Around College Basketball 2019/20 Season

Was watching Baylor ranked number 1 in the nation take apart Florida on the road. They have a plethora of transfers including their starting center who is a former walk-on at a division 3 school. Doesn't matter where you get players as long as they can play.

We'll see what happens with their coach who has frequently come up small in crunch time in in a close game in late March.

Myself and others have been saying to look at D2 or D3 if we have to for real bigs. There should be plenty of 6'10+ 250+ guys out there in low major D1/mid major D1/D2/D3 who are looking for much more exposure and a much better program that's actually known and on TV in the best conference. Doesn't have to be a complete player...just a role player who stays within himself.

Rutgers has a really nice squad. They will be a tough out in the tourney. They got bunch of kids who can put the ball in the hoop.

I'm sorry but I don't understand this reference.
Rutgers hired a real professional basketball coach 4 years ago as we have hopefully done this time.

Rutgers is 169th in the nation in scoring (yes, behind the Johnnies). They're also 10th overall in the Big Ten and 8th in Big Ten conference games only.

I said it last week that Rutgers is similar to the Johnnies. The difference is they play better defense, better on the boards and more efficient than us. I don't particularly see it as they have a lot of players who can put the ball into the hoop, as much as it is methodical.

Per this thread: It's only one season. Not to mention, a season that isn't over yet. Let's not make Rutgers out to be some juggernaut. I think Rutgers may (keyword here) going forward, but it's nothing I'd bet on. I'm not as easily impressed, and also has to see something occur for two or three seasons before I'm convinced.

As many of you know, Rutgers has been/ is in the mix with top players on Long Island which is not surprising given that their coach came from Stony Brook

I tried to get SJU involved with RU freshman Paul Mulcahy, when he was a junior in high school but he wanted to stay in N.J. and play for Rutgers
Stay home? Wow...that still happens?

USF up 45-39 on Gonzaga with 15 minutes left. Charles Minlend, son of former Johnnie, with 10. Can't find this one on TV unfortunately.

How bout Hasahn as a grad transfer candidate? Didn't Van recruit him to St. Louis?
