Amir Garrett

he should be brought in...for a standing ovation if nothing else.

we're not playing uconn...he should get a few minutes.

Hope your right and it is a blowout and he can get a few meaningless minutes and get the ovation he rightfully deserves.

If this were a week ago I would agree with you but would like to see him play to get the nerves out now & not for our first league game

Hell yeah Amir! That's how you deal with some adversity and get it done....Amir is going to be one of my favorite Redmen of all time

I think he's well equipped enough to get more than meaningless minutes. As long as he's not uncomfortable out there and we run on occasion man defense as well as some simple offensive sets while he's in, he can even help us. Love to get him in the game for a few in the heat of it both for Amir and for SJU fans. This kid worked hard, stayed the course and deserves it. Like I said, I really love guys like Amir regardless on whether he is just a role player for 4 years or becomes a star. Character kids build teams. He has the athleticism and work ethic to really contribute if he hones his game, and like Pointer, does the little things even if he isn't the most polished.

I won't be able to go to the ga,e because of work, but hope the crowd erupts for Amir. Love enthusiastic players that want to be here, not malcontents or primadonnas. SJU's history was built in kids like the ones on the roster right now. Guys like D'Angelo who is fearless and Pointer who always plays loose as if he has nothing to lose. These kids put it on the court and they as well as the fans will be rewarded in a year or two when these kids have experience and depth. I really love this roster, regardless of the shortcomings. The truth is that the weak ones got weeded out like lindsey, Pelle etc. No doubt I love their talent level, but want kids with fire here. I still haven't given up on Jakarr as one of them. Still think he might be one that doesn't give up on us.

Gotta love this kid. Especially since he could have easily packed it up and ran with that million-dollar guaranteed baseball contract. With all the bs in recruiting these days, dealing with the “handlers” of recruits who exploit the trust placed in them by the kids they shop around as a way to gain some sort of power and wealth that otherwise would be nonexistent in their own lives, really nice to have a story of a kid like this come our way.
