You're reading my mind, Moose. I said the same thing to myself last night. I also said to myself, we rout 'Zona if all of the ineligibles were eligible.

Are you assuming that if Garrett played Nuri wouldn't have fouled out?
He's grown.
NEW YORK — St. John’s may well add 6-foot-7 wing Amir Garrett at the semester break in December, his prep school coach told SNY.tv

He was a legit 6'6" when he was at Findlay, so it's certainly possible. He's real long and will give us another versatile forward this season. With Garrett I actually think this team can be quite successful after what I saw last night.

He might've still fouled out but I think Coach would've been able to sub in and out a little more...could've changed the foul picture. Nuri was doing work last night though. He looked like he's been workin on race cars for 18 years.

Can't really say if we would have won or not with Garrett. He definitely would have helped though. The bottom line is that he is not here right now, so the team and fans are just going to have to deal with it. Say he becomes eligible in December and then we still lose a close game, are people going to be saying that if Sampson and Pelle were here, we probably would have won?
I would rather focus on what this team is, rather than what they 'might' be?

I don't know Dink.
I think we win if we have our whole class on the floor but I'm not sure having garret alone would have made much of a difference.
Lindsey was the key and he picked up at least two, maybe three offensive fouls on his way to fouling out.
He's going to do that regardless of Garrett being there or not. He pushes off all the time.

Agreed.... heck, if lindsey doesn't foul out we probably win the game by 5.
Regardless, i really can't wait to see Garret suited up for SJU. From the limited action i've seen him play you could tell he is a gritty, tough, athletic & skilled forward. He likes to bang with the big boys and is a very good offensive rebounder imo.

So we have a jumbo peanuts and now a peanut. Any relation?
This may have been mentioned, but is Garrett playing hoops currently at his prep school or just concentrating on school work?

Playing ball.
I'm gonna see him and Wood tomorrow in New Haven.
Moose, hopefully you can give us some updates on Amir and Darrick when you have a chance as I am sure you will. I am really excited about adding Amir for now. Call me crazy, but when we get him and get to an 8 player rotation, which is a huge difference, I really think we can be a top 10 team in the BE by February and then who knows. One of those games this weekend would have been huge for our resume, and afforded us to lose some others, but I think we can beat UCLA at home, and hopefully at Detroit and we come down to the BE. Honestly, the way these kids play with their athleticism, they will learn how to win close games and there aren't many teams even in the BE they can't beat. I am a little worried about road games, but we play a lot of the big boys at home so maybe we can steal a couple.
