Auf wiedersehen Deutschland.
DISGRACEFUL showing by Germany!!!!!!
Historic loss to an inferior opponent.

Except for the closing stages against Sweden they showed no fire, acting like they could just waltz in and win because they're Germany.

Now it's time to clean house starting with Low, whose choices for the team and starting line ups were curious at best. Leaving Sane off the squad exposed the speed weakness in the flank attack.

Neur, Meuller, Khedira, Ozil, Reus, Kroos, Hummels, Boateng, Gomez and others need to give way for the next wave . The young team which was playing last year at least showed some spark.

Almost forgot they left Sane out. Among other good young players. But he really sticks out considering he’s easily a top 20 player in the world and didn’t even make this team.

Glad we picked Saint Petersburg semi final as opposed to Moscow.

Moscow half of the draw: Spain, Croatia, Russia, Denmark, Sweden and Switzerland

Saint Petersburg half: Brazil, France, Argentina, Portugal, Uruguay and Mexico

Not determined yet! Tomorrow we will know where they each wind up. Could be very interesting that game could be a tank fest considering it’s favorable to end up on one side and avoid Brazil in quarterfinals

Say what you want about there being too many European teams, for the most part (apart from Germany and Poland), they have all performed / progressed. Same with the S. Americans, bar Peru (sorry Mike).
I would prefer to see more of Europe and S. America there (i.e. Holland, Italy, Ireland, Greece, Chile…)

Africa has fared very badly: Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Nigeria, Senegal all out. Ditto middle east: Iran and S. Arabia. Australia, S. Korea done. At least Japan progressed.

Looks bad for the US when Costa Rica and Panama did so poorly. Only Mexico came through for CONCACAF…

There’s a lot of teams just making up numbers and it will be worse in 2026 when there are 48 countries.

Some good matchups now we are down to 16. Croatia have really impressed me… but this thing is wide open.

Belgium, Colombia, Sweden, Paraguay.

Peru just landed back in Lima to huge police escort and people lining the streets at 11pm. Notice the McDonald’s Golden Arches in the background . Lol

Uruguay I hate Real and two of my friends are HUGE Barca supporters.
Argentina See above Barca reference and despite Tolliso I can't bring myself to root for the frenchies
Brazil. After that first round loss I can't root for el Tri and their goalie gives me the creeps.
Belgium. I know my wife will be watching this because of Prince Harry.
Spain I hate Real but the ruskies are toast.
Denmark Defense, defense, defense.
Sweden In what could be the most boring match of the round.
Columbia They have the best unis in the tourny.

Portugal
Argentina
Brazil
Belgium
Russia
Croatia
Sweden
Colombia (Just because i want to continue partying with beautiful women in Queens) ;)
