25-26 Season

If maker is capable of giving us close to what Vince gave us last year, not sure we need another pure 5. Prey will be improved there. Zuby plays 30+. Go get an athletic 4/5.

I still wouldn't count on Maker for much next year. Need a guy that can compete physically with other 5s even if it's a 4/5 hybrid. Need a guy that we can still win some games with if *knock on wood* Zuby has to miss a few games

I’m counting on Prey to be that guy, but if you can get a big man that can help you you do it. I don’t happen to think a true 5 is a must.

Rick almost never played Prey without either Zuby or Vince on the floor with him this year, even against teams that didn't have powerful bigs. Maybe an offseason with our S&C coach may help, but don't think Rick or Prey himself wants him to be playing much 5

Prey looked best in his limited time as a 5. He's been playing in the middle his entire life. I honestly think he was loaned with express condition that he play the 4. The only other explanation is that he couldn't communicate the switches like Pitino asks the 5 to do.

I love the kid long term, but he's 7'1 and he has no muscle to speak of. We have to be patient. I think he can play 5-7 minutes a game next year. Am I willing to be the season on it? I don't know that.

He has special shot-blocking talent though.

Might be right, and I have no problem with Prey playing the 5 when the opposing 5 is a guy like Ben Gold. But I don't think we can survive a 4 minute stretch of Prey vs Sorber and we'd be cooked if Zuby rolled an ankle and had to miss a couple weeks

One thing I'll say is that nobody pushed Prey around this year. Zuby was on skates often, but nobody did that to Prey. I have no fear that he will get overpowered.

Good points and he didn’t play much at the 5 alone but that equation could change next to a great rebounding 4. And if Prey wants big minutes with Hopkins here he’s gonna need some time as the 5.

My priorities:
1. Lead guard
2. Switchable athletic forward
3. Big man
