2025 / 2026 Roster

Nova 32-25 under 4 media timeout
Keep it close, turn it on in second half

Trilly again tonight "Portal is probably going to be very down this year unfortunately" then when asked if it would be lack of top end guys or overall talent - "Like top end guys"

Will be interesting to see how it shakes out this offseason. You only ever hear of schools planning to make more of an investment in NIL not less plus a lack of top end names compared to last offseason will make portal recruiting even more competitive. I trust Matt is doing his due diligence and grinding in the shadows but we can definitely end up with a roster closer to last season's than this season's

Legit concern imo. We’ll see.

This has to be expected to a degree… after this Season- we are losing the players that got the extra Covid year (Posh/Wusu/Kadary etc) as well as normal seniors (Scott)… so more players exiting the college game as a whole.

What we will probably have… A lot of freshmen/sophomores looking to move who haven’t got much PT behind these college vets… Matt is gonna earn his paycheck this offseason…

The important thing is that our staff isn’t learning about developments at the same time we are or Trilly. I’m sure there’s a lot of different plan a, b or c’s out there. Luckily for us, retaining will be most important anyway.

Another reason why i think ignoring the HS and JUCO talent is a mistake. No guarantee caliber of player you need or want will be in the transfer portal and if they are the competition will be fierce especially if less talent available

I don’t know who Fordham is specifically referring to, but there’s some guys committed in the top 50 for 247 that are for schools who either have a guy on the hot seat or already indicated he will be resigning at end of year.

Ian Jackson, Yaxel, Mbagko and another wing.
Jackson is a 1st round pick. He should be NBA bound. Yaxel is also on a bunch of draft boards and word is he’s either going to the NBA or to Kansas.

Mgbako is very talented but Pitino might go insane with him on the defensive end.

Jamir Watkins is someone I’m keeping an eye on. There was alleged mutual interest last year and his coach is retiring after this season. 6’7 athletic wing with one more year of eligibility left.

Would be nice if Donovan Dent was still playing for a Pitino next year but I’d highly doubt it

Jackson is great talent but mainly offensively to date... if he played under Pitino he'd have a big learning curve on defense if we expect similar identity on that side of ball.
