Kind of amazing when the eye test meets advanced stats.

For example: Zuby has the best +/- on the team with 356. RJ is right behind him at 319. No one in the top six has less than 195. Then it's Ayo (87), Dunlap (49) and Prey (43). ... Vince is at 15 (!!!) and Glover 12 (!!!!).

With Miya's advanced defensive metric, Kadary and Zuby are neck-and-neck with 3.79 (#8 in nation) and 3.46 (#15). -- which is elite. Everyone is above 2 (which is good) except three players: Glover .52, Dunlap .64, and Vince .77.

13 players have negative defensive metrics in the Big East, including Solo Ball (-.17).

Fun tool to play around. Hard to really figure out advanced defensive stats but interesting tool

Can you please calculate the +/- per minute for each player and get back to me. We need more in depth analysis. ;)

No one is diminishing the accomplishments of the 84-85 team by recognizing this year’s team. Believe the 84-85 team had four guys who played in the NBA on it, and that year’s BE sent 3 teams to the Final Four, and had Nova as the Champions.

As has been pointed out, this year’s team had no such lofty expectations, has no sure fire NBA prospects, and has had incredible team success because of their coaching, preparation, and teamwork.

This has been a wonderful ride which is not over yet, and it should be celebrated.

I didn’t take the initial post as a slight towards the 84-85 team. Who actually had 6 NBA players and a 7th who was drafted.
