2024-25 Season

Rick has expressed his concern that Glover has not yet evidenced enough defensive ability and discipline I recall. Rick’s practices are detail oriented especially re the defense. Not using that time productively has no upside. Hopefully Glover gets that, as Rick justifiably has very little tolerance for free lancing and not embracing game plan and practice details.
Does Pitino feel the same way about Lefty? The reason why I'm asking is we are down a guard (Smith) and Lefty is a 6'4" 200 pound guard. His shooting stats, albeit limited, are not terrible. Pitino thought he was a good player in Greece and he was named to a first team All-Tournament Team in Europe. He's almost got one full year under Pitino's coaching at St. John's. He passes my eye test whereas I've never said to myself this kid is not ready to play in the Big East get him the hell out of the game. I don't remember him turning the ball over or screwing up on defense in a glaring manner. I do remember him hitting a couple of three point shots.

So I agree with some of the other posters on this site with Smith out and with having a short bench, why doesn't Lefty get more playing time?

Oh brother. Like I miss Vince being ridiculed for...well everything.

Believe me, I'm not looking to denigrate Brady. As I'm all about building our players up. Especially ones that were injured enough to require season ending surgeries. Unlike you, who gets off on tearing
certain players you target down.

Brady's 37%, you rounded way up, was built on 8 for 14 against first 3 powerhouses Fordham, Quinnipiac (otherwordly 5 for 7), and Wagner. Against the rest he was 4 for 18. How much of that was injury and how much was better defenses we can all speculate on.

Brady has NOT been good in his 2 seasons here. And that's an understatement. Even though people tell me they see him doing many positive things that don't show up in the boxscore that I'm unable to see with my untrained eyes. Any other take is revisionist history.

I LIKE BRADY and I would like him to return. Perhaps he could become good as an upperclassman? Thus far, the best thing he's had going for him has been being an extremely popular fan favorite with the overwhelmingly white fan base as an ever rare for us white player.
Our mutual longtime friend Larry Wright/We are SJU was on Brady while he was almost 50%. So were several others. Brady ended up at 37.5% on the year after finishing 2-13.

Hate to lose a decently ranked New Jersey kid, but starting to think he won't be here next season.

Looking past UConn for a second, we play Butler 2/26, Seton Hall 3/1 and end the regular season with Marquette on 3/8.

In between Butler and Marquette we should really use that stretch to get everyone 100% healthy.
