2024-25 Rankings

This really stinks . It’s not enough we have to pay for Cable TV but , now we have to add Subscription fees to get to see games we previously saw on regular Cable for nothing .

I blame Val and the BE .

Thank you , Dk for the info on the TV coverage . I saw somewhere a while ago , getting a trial peacock subscription for a nominal sum . Wonder if still available .
SLY, this is the best deal I can see on Peacock - $29.99 for a full year only available through February 18th. The one they had over Thanksgiving was $1.99 a month for for six months which I took advantage of. The current offer is essentially $2.50 per month but have to commit to 12 months.
They may offer a 7 day free trial which you could use just to watch the BET games, you should check for that.

Thank you , NCJ . Great info you gave me . Appreciate your going to the trouble of looking it up .
Yes , I should, coulda got that special rate back on Nov but , didn’t .
I never thought that Fox or the BE powers would stoop so low as to subscribe out the year end tourney .
It’s another money grab, so common today .
I have Dish for Cable and am a big hockey fan .

So I get the NHL Center Ice package for 75 or $ 90 a season .

Living in NC as you do , I get every NHL game for the season , excluding ones on Regular Networks except 1 ,
The Hurricanes . I don’t get ANY of their games but , a big message on the Center Ice screen says due to local , blackout Contracts , the canes game is not broadcast .
It’s not just home games , either , it’s Every game , home or away .
I call Dish and get someone from Pakistan who asks what is Hockey?
It goes downhill from there .
Bottom line is , Dish won’t pay Canes their rate to broadcast

Coaches poll shows why we may have a chance at #1 seed if we win out.

Top four teams are all SEC -- you have to assume two of them won't be able to get the #1 line (this also eliminates Texas A&M)
Duke will get the other one.

We're right in that blob with Houston (Big 12)/Purdue (Big 10)/Iowa St (Big 12)/Michigan St (Big 10)/Texas Tech (Big 12)/Arizona (Big 12)

Why not us?

I'd love for it to happen but I don't see it. I think it's going to be Duke and 2-3 SEC teams. I think either Purdue or Houston will also be ahead of us. I think we're going to be a 2-3 seed though.

We win out we should be. Long way to go still. But its there for that to happen. Dont think they could dismiss us even though they probably would.

I'd put the chances at like 8% and don't think we're totally in control of our destiny here.

Three SEC teams will not get the #1 seed line. I would find that almost impossible to believe. But, we will need neither Purdue or Mich St to win the conference title, and likely can't have HOU/Iowa St/Zona win the B12 title. That's also assuming none of them slip up before the conference games.

With all of the teams in that blob, it is crazy how the variance can be anywhere between #1 and #5. 3 is probably the smartest expectation
