2024-25 Rankings

Within a week's span, MSU has to play Illinois, Purdue, and Michigan. Within a week's span, Purdue has to play Michigan, Wisconsin, and MSU.

Clearly I am biased and expect St. John's to win every game, BUT there is a lot of time left for moving and shaking.
We can beat Wisconsin for sure. I think we play them in March too.

Would love to be a 2 seed. Pitino doesn’t lose to lesser teams so we advance and end the curse. Our style breaks the 7/10 playing two games in 3 days. Then anything is possible second weekend.
All well and good, but I don't think we should get over our skis. One game at a time and avoid any bad losses. Wins will take care of everything. Unfortunately, you have to expect at least 1 loss we're not anticipating. If not, great, but in college BB, anything can and usually does happen. BET is a tough row to hoe. I fully expect to sprint to the end, but that does not mean we won't have challenges. It is GREAT to be able to seriously discuss the possibilities that have only been dreams and fantasies for a few decades now.

I think ceiling is a 1 seed. All those SEC teams at the top will eventually start thinning their own herd.

Even excluding all the wins we'll need to collect, a lot will still need to happen of course -- including committee members who anointed certain teams a month ago and won't budge from that on selection Sunday.

Beat UConn and I think we're inside top 10, a full week ahead of where and when I thought we'd be. And top 10 with a month+ to go is a great place to be.

You'd think that is how it works, but it won't go down like that.

The SEC is the protected class... The powers that be have and will continue to do everything to prop them up.

What happens is this... In the preseason the pollsters pollute the rankings with SEC teams. As these teams knock each other off, the talking heads start to talk about SOS, and how the "SEC" is the best conference in the history of conferences. As the season progresses, some SEC teams end up with worse records than others (obviously). But here is where it gets interesting, the talking heads on ESPIN, etc., begin to say how all records aren't equal, that a team's SOS should be taken into account.

They do this to prop up the SEC and B!G (P2) while simultaneously screwing over other squads. It's been going on in football for years. Basketball is starting to see it now.

How is Tennessee 5-4 in conf yet still #4 in the AP poll? Yeah there's a lot of ranked teams from the SEC, but I'd think maybe 8th or 9th

#4 is a big much.

See my post above. It's all rigged.

Last year the Big East should have had 5-6 teams dancing. Three made it. All made it to the elite eight, one won it all. That pissed the clowns i the NCAA off, bigly.

They do not want teams like us in it. They want the cash cows, the state schools with massive television contracts.

LOL @ the SEC suddenly being the top basketball school. It was a joke when they become the top football conference. All cheaters, the whole lot, especially Saban.

The shit that Emmert let slide in Tuscaloosa is insane.

Don't see it. Auburn, Duke, Alabama all likely 1's and too many other teams that I think will have slightly better resumes. But, the fact that we're even debating is a testament to how special this season has been.
Agree on this. Too many games to speculate. I would be thrilled with a 3 seed which would give us almost as good a chance as a 1 seed, At this point its take it one game at a time and see what happens. I am not getting ahead of myself.

We're just fans...doesn't matter how far we look. As a Mets and St. John's fan, I have to look ahead to maximize happiness. It doesn't look as good in real time.
