Will be interesting to see which venue the Georgia game is played. The Bulldogs are scheduled to face Marquette on 11/23 in Paradise Island, separate game apart from the Battle 4 Atlantis.

im confused on this Georgia game.... is it just- "why don't we stay down there a couple extra nights and play another game?"... i could understand if it was a true Marquee opponent... (Duke/UNC/Kansas/etc...) .... anyone know the reasoning behind it?

I'd suggest taking a look at Georgia's roster and what they've done this off-season plus who they have coming in. Mike White has restocked that team really nicely. They are a top 35 team. That's going to be a quad 1 game. Tyrin Lawrence was really strong for Vandy. De'Shayne Montgomery, Justin Abson, Dakota Leffew, and RJ Godfrey plus Somto Cyril and 5 star freshmen Asa Newell. They're talented
And Georgia is looking at SJU the same way. Now you add in the convenience of being in the same proximity already, not having to coordinate and pay extra for flights, hotel, logistics of where the game is played...it does makes sense.
I think it's a great game for both sides
Most exempt tournaments give you 3 games (can either schedule 29 games or 28 plus an exempt tournament) so otherwise we would have one less game on our schedule. It is also an enhanced inducement for fans to travel because they will see 3 games instead of 2.
I like the game, but couldn’t we have scheduled any additional non conference game to do the same? This game doesn’t count towards being part of the exemption does it?
Unless rules have changed it being outside the States it is exempt and we could not just schedule another game in the US.

They aren’t. But if your exempt tournament has only two games you are one short of maximum and can’t just schedule any game. Unless rule has changed playing in Hawaii was an exempt game in football. When Bama was on probation in early 2000’s for two years they scheduled Hawaii away for those years to get the extra game since they were bowl ineligible. Years ago Hawaii tournament was ultra desirable because it was like the only exempt T then places like Puerto Rico started tournaments then NCAA gave homeland tournament exemptions if qualified as charitable then took that requirement away. Geez I wish you would just call me on the phone it’s a long story and I’ve heard us older people shouldn’t text on our phones too much for health reasons for our fingers.

just hope we get AT Least 2...maybe 3 "warmup" games before the Tests start...

With the extra game we now intend to do Wed - Monday morning but waiting to make sure we can get tickets.
