Posh will run the Show wherever he plays this season, St Johns or another school, Posh will be starting. How quickly some forget.
 
These are not his players he inherited them once he recruits his guys he is not going to tell them they have to leave if they play poorly that’s a dumb take. I’ll trust the opinion of the HOF coach thank you.

Good point... RP is new at this recruiting thing, might not understand how this will impact future recruits... If only he had experience in this area, we would all feel more comfortable in the decisions he's making. If only...
 
I really liked those three kids, so it is sad to see them go and I hope they excel at their next schools.

However, to me the question boils down to this, if given the choice would you rather have Mike Anderson recruiting for you or Rick Pitino? The answer is obvious and this is 3 more spots for Rick Pitino recruits.
 
After 30 years of almost total failure the president signs one of the best college coaches of all time, influences the top possible player to return even though he could have certainly gone to Europe or played somewhere for money, sets up interviews with possible recruits and loses a player who has a decent upside to the portal.
This has all happened within about a week and there are already posters calling the hire a bad move. SJU posters are a tough bunch.
 
No one has said he is a bad coach the issue is how he went about this. Management 101 Dont call out people at a press conference. He came across as pompous arrogant and had an air of I am better than these current players

Panther I don't think that the large majority of posters have forgotten about Posh's contributions here. Quite the contrary. But at the same time Posh played his best ball when he played off the ball. Now, maybe with a new coach(here or elsewhere) he becomes a true floor general, and hopefully it's here, but questioning whether or not he's the right kind of PG for Rick's offense does not mean that fans have forgotten what Posh has contributed and how much he's meant to this program.

Sorry to see these players go, but got to trust Rick on this, that he knows what's best for St. John's, for these kids, and probably has players better for his system in his sights.

Our coach was fired for cause due to the off-court behavior of his players.

How much more advice are you going to give to a man that is almost universally considered one of the top five coaches in the last 50 years?

I’m disappointed Storr is gone, but we aren’t privy to what happened before Pitino arrived or what players Pitino has lined up.

I actually much prefer this buy in or leave approach to kissing a player’s rear to stay.

There are a few posters(very few) on this board who were not happy with the Pitino signing. It's pretty obvious who they are. They will look for reasons to criticize and question him. Guess we gotta get used to it. In fairness, I did the same to CMA. Only difference is I was right, and they'll be wrong 😉

Are you serious? A hall of fame coach who won EVERWHERE and not with cupcake schedules, people still are complaining. Yes, he should call the out if they aren't any good. Let's face it those 3 guys we lost on the transfer portal were decent on a bad team. When the barometer is low the ceiling isn't that high. Good luck to those kids but honestly not surprised. Every time a new coach comes in kids enter the transfer portal. Since Rick jettisoned a few of those out, kind of tells you the caliber type of player. At least he gave wosu and Posh a chance to try out. Seriously people that's why i started the tongue in cheek is Rick the right guy thread? The kids we lost when anderson came in from Mullin's left overs. We finally have a TRUE LEGIT HALL OF FAME Coach.
