2022 Yankees

Higgy is a backup. He proves that everytime he gets extended playing time. The same is probably true of Trevino. Both guys are probably playing a little more often than they should be.

Cashman needs to be on the lookout for a catcher who can at least rake a little bit. It's not an immediate need, but I do think it will need to be addressed down the road.
Make Miggie Mask up behind the plate !

game 23. ten in a row. beat the contending jays.
torres the man. knocked in all the runs with a getty and a base knock.
stanton a real nice catch. should have played the field seasons ago.
mvp dj a single. un mvp gallo again the splendid splinter.
bravo to fireman of the year chad and jeremy.
sop - the starter goes 5 and the bullpen army takes over.

A very nice win, for sure. Bats a bit quiet. Not a fan of Castro. He's all over the place.

game 24. 11 11 11 11 11 11 11 11 11 11 11.
again they beat a good contending team, this time with jays ace on mound.
game had sloppy baserunning, sloppy infield throws, sloppy umping.
dj and gallo were both splendid splinters.
hicks bandwagon is standing room only.
bravo taillon and the pen and the sticks.

I think that Aaron Judge at bat In the 6th inning was key to the victory and masterful. After 2 quick strikes and an 0-2 count he fouled off pitches and was able to lay off 2 wicked curves/sinkers that appeared to be strikes ,then dropped straight down out of the strike zone for ball 2&3. With a full count he launched a home run to tie the game at 1. From there Yanks just took off and dominated with key hits from Donaldson,Hicks,Judge again,Stanton and more.Taillon, quietly effective and always keeps you in the game!

Unbelievable moment was Blue Jay fan who caught Judge home run, gave ball to young Yankee fan wearing Aaron Judge jersey , who openly wept with joy!

game 25. Tough one run loss. chances are ...
6th- lead off double, top of order up. #99 called strike 3 on ball clearly below his knees.
7th-1st and 2nd, one out.
8th-#99 strikes out as getting squeezed all game. 3rd strike a swinging strike below his knees.
perhaps swung because of previous bad ump call.
9th-1st and 2nd one out, bases loaded 2 outs.

FAST FACT: OF Aaron Judge (9HR) and 1B Anthony Rizzo (9HR) are just the third pair of Yankees teammates in franchise history to hit at least 9HR in the club's first 25 games of a season, joining Judge (9HR) and Luke Voit (10HR) in 2020 and Yogi Berra (10HR) and Mickey Mantle (11HR) in 1956.
the Yankees recorded a season-high 11-game winning streak from April 22 – May 3, which was the longest winning streak by any team in the Majors this season. Their streak was also the Yankees' second-longest winning streak in the last 37 seasons since 1986, trailing only their 13-game winning streak from August 14-27, 2021.

Yanks won last night without playing as the Blue Jays and Red Sux both lost. Unfortunately, the Rays won to move into second place. Weather here in NY is not good for this weekend. It will be interesting to see how many games in the Texas series gets played.

Going to see them in Baltimore 5/18 , can’t wait . I live in DE now. Former season ticket holder from 1991-2010 in NY

game 26 again.
After the game, Rangers manager Chris Woodward credited Torres’ home run to Yankee Stadium, what he called a “little league ballpark,” saying that it would be an “easy out in 99-percent of ballparks.” The thing is, Torres’ hit would have been a home run in 26 ballparks.

game 27.
thhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhe yankees split.
when the yankee sticks go cold, they go ice cold. no matter what the stadium dimensions are.
one getty, 2 singles. a rare bad outing for king.

Not a good week for the bats going cold with the Jays and White Sox coming up. Hopefully the bats get going today.

As a long time Yankee fan, I also hate the short dimensions of YS. Homers are nice, but these cheapies are ridiculous.
