Hicks (injured), Gonzalez, Luetge off the ALDS roster and Peraza, Montas, Weissert on.
Weissert over Marinaccio must mean the Yanks still fell Marinaccio’s is still too injurEd to contribute. Same goes for LeMahieu. The injury to Hicks keeps Locastro on the roster as they wanted another true outfielder just in case otherwise otherwise he loses his sport for the additional pitcher. With the decision to go with 13 pitchers instead of 12 this round, with IKF‘s struggles and d Hicks injury, Gonzalez was going to be the last man out.
I am surprised Luetge was dropped picking both Castro, Weissert and Montas over him.

Well Boone's decisions with the bullpen tonight sucked. Schmidt had nothing, lucky to get out of one jam before giving up the 2 homers. Montas has been awful. Why was Taillon taken out so early? And this lineup? 17 STRIKEOUTS!! Donalson continues to be awful, and Carpenter was 0 four Ks. Have to get out the bottom of the Cheaters lineup to have a chance to win. Winnable game off the board.
Definitely a winnable game. Taillon 67 pitches 1 run But this lineup. Wow
i know only one game but can they make this a series.
As bad as Hicks was, at least he was hitting in the bottom of the lineup. We have dealt with Donaldson all year between 4 and 6. had a couple of walkoff hits earlier but overall continues to be horrible at the plate. He can’t catch up to a decent fastball and is clueless on off speed pitches (possible because he knows he can’t catch up to a fastball and is trying to compensate by looking for them and swinging earlier).

Agree. Anytime we face Verlander, my first thought is "don't get no hit' and then, "we got a hit, lets see if we can score". We did both of those at the same time.
I too wasn't expecting a win yesterday, but today is the day to steal one and go home 1-1 and then let's see what happens.

I'm glad to see Stanton is not playing the field. I would like to see Donaldson benched. It makes sense to have Bader lead off. He is very fast and has been hot lately,

Pitiful. It's always about the lack of hitting with this team. The pitching is plenty good enough to win a championship. I've been saying it all year long. They can be pitched to.
Carpenter overmatched. He had his time, but it has passed. But he's not the only one to blame. The line is long. 30 strikeouts in 2 games. Absolutely atrocious.
