2022-23 Season

What makes anybody think Anderson's going to change his routine of starting Mathis for defensive purposes and bringing Wusu off the bench to see significant minutes? He trusts these guys and Storr or anybody else is going to have to earn the ability to step in as a replacement, coupled with a significant decrease in ability from Mathis and/or Wusu.

As far as Wusu's ball handling skills: Curbello.

Going into the season the starters are probably going to be Posh, Curbello, Jones, Soriano and the 5th spot is open.

Because he'll hopefully have a healthy Pinzon, who he had shown a lot of confidence in.

I'm not down on Pinzon, love his potential, but when did Anderson show a lot of confidence in him? I don't recall him getting significant time, especially in crunch situations.

NIT not enough.
NCAA or ……

However
“NCAA or”…
NCAA or else what?
Stop being an SJU fan?
Stop watching the games?

It’s like when people critique Coach Anderson, what is a better alternative?
Most all of us on this board are frustrated with how poor we performed for decades. And how sweet it will be if and when we finally get a 20 win team and an NCAA a run.

I’m an optimistic - and realistic - type of guy. Still it’s hard to believe how little success and how few NCAA games we’ve participated in how long, again that word - “decades”!!!

He brought the ball up on the final ay of the Indiana game.
It ended up being a mess. But CMA gave him the task a few games into his career in a very hostile atmosphere

Gen,
My point is that such failure to make the NCAA’s should result in a coaching change and/or a serious review of the program.
Maybe a change in leagues should be considered.

Another league or more decades of nothing?
downgrading leagues could possibly be the worst suggestion ive seen on this board over the years.... and there have been a lot lol.

talk about competitive suicide... We move to the A10...what makes people think we would dominate there? we wouldnt get BE caliber recruits there (we Have BE caliber players on the roster right now) .... we then move to the MAAC? NEC?

cmon... i hope this suggestion is facetious...

Ok, and I know he was hit hard with covid. Look I hope he kills it at SJU, but based on what I've seen from Anderson's MO, I don't think Pinzon's going to be a starter. The best thing that can happen is he becomes one by BE play because that'd mean he's really stepped up.

I have to agree. the Redmen would be tossing out a fortune and the Big East needs them for the Garden.

If we made it through the 8 suspended players back in the Keita (Abe) fiasco we ain't leaving now.

If the Redmen had the run that Depaul has had since they joined I would understand possibly (however not) leaving.

It really is just the overall frustration that all of us old-timers have with the spotty results of the program. But kids ain't staying home and NYC ain't the hub of HS players like it used to be.

We Play to Win the Game! So lets WIN THE GAME!

I believe a poster who seems to have a connection to the staff said last year that they were very high on him and would have eventually won the starting job if healthy.

We wouldn't have the Garden if we left the Big East. We wouldn't get the type of players we have right now in the future if we left the Big East. And considering so many posters have been down on recruiting, that would be bad.

People complain about our OOC schedule. Do you want that to be our conference schedule? Do you like TV exposure? Do you like the other school programs that being a Big East basketball member pays for?

I think suggesting that we leave the conference that at one point made us a household name is infinitely worse than most of the stuff on the code of conduct.
