2020 NY Mets Season

While it is exciting to talk about players like Springer, Realmuto and Lindor, hitting wasn't a problem during the COVID shortened season. It was our pitching. We have DeGrom and Peterson who is a fourth or fifth starter and the hope that Syndegaard contributes when he returns. We need three starters in the offseason. Even with Lugo probably returning to the bullpen we can use some help there as well.

I am really hoping for Bauer as Sandy sees that the window for deGrom will be closing soon. Need to go balls to the wall.. short term/high salary so we aren't locked in like Cano... or Bobby B for that matter.

True, we had 4 three hundred hitters , however we sucked in leaving runners on base .Bring on Springer and Lindor.

We have guys who can play shortstop and Lindor has not been great the last 2 years
Good teams are always strong up the middle
Give me Realmuto or McCann to catch and Springer to play center field
We haven't had a legit quality center fielder in several years
Bauer is a bit eccentric and quite outspoken but he's a hell of a pitcher

Three times Sandy said it was highly likely that Rojas would be the manager in 2011. Unfortunately this isn't a typo. Sandy may be past his prime.

Just finished watching the Cohen & Alderson press conference
How can any die hard Mets fan not be pumped up after watching it?
I'm more excited than I have been about the Mets in a very, very long time!!
LGM!! LGM!! LGM!! LGM!!

No, I can't say it.

It was idiotic to trade for a guy based on his performance that was enhanced by drugs.

This is great news for the Mets, who now are relieved of paying him $24 million for 2021. He's not even worth half that at this point, so losing that salary for a year even is good news.

This is actually good news for the Mets and not just because of the $24M off the books for this season.

The timing was good as well. Not a list minute thing and allows them to plan to replace him. Not sure why Cano would put himself in this situation. He was getting paid regardless.

I sometimes think of the enormous damage done by PED abusers.

1. In a game where excellence is defined by statistics more than any other competitive sport, they have adulterated the record books

2. Way past their normal productive lifespans as athletes they have kept minor league players from realizing their dream to become major league players.

3. There have been thousands, maybe tens of thousands or hundreds of thousands of hs and college athletes who use(d) PEDs because they believed they had to in order to get to the next level. Some have died.

So it's not just about fat headed, muscle bound 40 year olds dominating a sport and cheating father time. It's not about making a joke about winning and losing fairly. It's not about homeruns that would have been flyouts. It's not even about damaging their own bodies.

It's about hurting and cheating others. Remember when that mattered to us?

Cano deserves a life time ban (with his age this might be). I hope the owners conspire against him.

It doesn’t come as a shock that he popped after his big rebound year. F him and use his salary for better. It basically now turns that horrible trade into Diaz plus whoever they (potentially) replace him with in FA.
