Great move by the Mets, a move the Yankees should have made.  One of the top players in the game and a really good pitcher.

This is a great trade for the Mets. Lindor and Carrasco. An All Star and if healthy a solid pitcher for the rotation.

Like every greedy fan my second reaction was can they still pull off Springer or does that end that pursuit? Springer still sounds like he wants wild money.
 
Wow, going after it. I wonder if this takes them out of Springer abs Bauer or if Cohen says go for it.
 
I think we get Springer still maybe it takes a while until he sees the $ isn't as much as he thinks it will be. Bauer I don't think we get him nor do I want to pay him the money he wants.
 
Yeah we probably don't go for Bauer, but having another 2/3 isn't as big a deal know if we have a team that can score a bunch of run.

I hope they will stay involved with Springer. There is no rush. I also dont get the impression they will sign Bauer. Its not clear when Syndegaard will be available and also not clear if the season will start on time. I think they will try to bridge the gap with another lower price free agent and sign a lefty reliever. Hopefully the DH stays so Dom Smith has a spot. If thinghs fall into place this will be a very good team.

 
 
New thought after the Lindor trade. Cohen said recently he doesnt want to go above the luxury tax or something like that which is around 210 million ? How much are we under like 25 mill ? What do you guys think of Jackie Bradley ? I rarely see the red Sox play so dont have much feel for him. Would you rather have Springer but then not much room for anything else of significance or Sign Bradley who sounds like a great fielder and save a bunch of money for pitching etc or room for another trade.

Also I havent even looked at our payroll per player this year and too lazy to look but any big dead salaries we could trade away to create more room if we go Springer to free up space ? How much are we paying Familia ? That's gotta be a big number
 
Familia makes around 11 million this year but can't see anyone taking him off our hands.
