KINGSTON, R.I. – Rhode Island freshman Omar Silverio has submitted his name to the NCAA Transfer Portal with the intent of exploring other opportunities in college basketball.
"Omar has made the choice to put his name in the Transfer Portal," Rhode Island Head Coach David Cox said. "After sitting with Omar as part of our year-end meetings, I am supportive of him finding a situation that is a good fit. We wish him the best moving forward."
Silverio, 6-4 a guard from the Bronx, N.Y., played in 28 games as a reserve for the Rams, averaging 1.9 points in 7.8 minutes per game. He contributed 28 rebounds and 18 assists while shooting .321 from the floor.
