There must be a 'typo' We're in the 'alphabet' right? It's a mistake; I'm sure we're in there...somewhere?
Lol.
It's my 'gallows' humor seizing up again.
Apologize.(Big sigh.)

While I don't wish it on the players, it's nice poetic justice to see that the grass is not always greener. Latest examples are Brooks, Yakwe, Sima, and Wilson. If another key player is looking to transfer, show them what happened to the others and tell them it doesn't always work the way they think it will. Wilson would have been getting tons of time here but thank god he isn't because he's a cancer to the team and the program culture. Brooks would've gotten tons of time and maybe even started here in a tourney season. Instead, he barely plays on a mediocre USC team in a horrid Pac12. Yakwe did nothing at UConn when he would've gotten way more time here and same with Sima at OSU. In fact, it looks like our transfers make things worse for themselves by in large. Ellison is playing 21 minutes at Pitt which is in line with what he played as a freshman for us. He got more minutes with us his final year at SJ compared to now at Pitt and has worse stats. So you can add him to the list too. Owens is one of the few to actually play a bit better on a higher ranked program.
I don't know all the facts on Yakwe, but I find it extremely doubtful that he "would have gotten way more time here" had he stayed. After committing the atrocious foul in the Gtown game, he essentially didn't play the rest of the season despite the fact that we had no bench. My recollection is that during the Providence game, when Ponds was out, Mullin played a walk-on over Yakwe. If he wasn't forced out, Yakwe certainly saw the writing on the wall.
Yawke like Ponds was injured and unavailable when we played Providence at the end of the season last year in which Justin Cole was pressed into duty during a close game. While Yawke minutes were limited, I think it was a combination of ineffectiveness, bonehead plays (which was not limited to him but the GTown game was HUGE) and injury.

Yawke moved on as it was probably a mutual decision and best for him.

Rik was a former teammate of Mullin’s with the Pacers.

Another familiar name per Borzello

UMass guard Unique McLean is leaving as a graduate transfer with two years left to play, per his AAU coach.

Would love to see us get Pipkins. 5'11" point guard from Chicago who averaged 16 plus 5.2 assists and 5 rebounds and shoots over 80% from line. But he will undoubtedly be looking for a starter's minutes so it might not work.

Why not? If a kid that has done what he’s done in the A-10 is scared of a JUCO that hasn’t played a minute of d-1 ball then he’s not the kind of kid we’d want anyway.

Assuming staff would go after him hard, I'd be all for it. He actually had a much better soph than junior year, averaged 21 and shot 43% from three as opposed to 28% this year.

Be nice if NBA advises him to return to school and work on improving his rebounding and we get him.

Dream transfer. Guard transfers make me nauseous at this point. PLEASE!

I just read the Indy Star article and I dared to dream that we'd reach out to him. I mean hell Mullin played with Rik for 3 years with the Pacers.

Please just make a phone call!

A lot of upside for him to play in NY in an NBA style against a higher level of competition before he goes NBA. Could raise his stock and also better prepare him. I like that he has improved every year. He's on the same trajectory as our team. :)

Coach couldn't get his godson to Jamaica, hope he fairs better here.

With Shamorie likely gone, SJU has more minutes available at guard, no?

Unless one of Keita, Roberts, Steele, or Manual are not going to contribute next season, then a 7' transfer seems to be unnecessary. Maybe the plan is to take the best basketball player available and make the system fit the players.

Rik went to Marist...better chance his son chooses Marist over us given our luck with big men. When's the last time we had a legit 7 footer here? And no don't give me DeLaRosa they don't count. Never played.
