2019 NY Mets

Another joke last night up 5-1 in the 8th Degrom pitched awesome but started to get a cramp in his hip he said he was fine but they took him out. Familia and Gsellman give up 4 runs in the 8th to blow it and they lose in the 11th. Now the most infuriating thing is he uses Diaz for an inning and a third in a tie game in extras why the F would you not have used him in the 8th then , he took out familia with two men on and 1 out and brought in Gsellman who has pitched 4 of the last 5 days and had nothing!!!

Another thing that’s getting ridiculous once again he removed Alonso from the game for defense so we didn’t have his bat from 8th inning on!!! His defense is fine stop taking your best hitter out early you Putz!!! They have a crappy bullpen and a crappy manager bad combination , and the decision to bring back familia as your set up man is looking worse every day guy has nearly a 7 era now and has been flat out awful!

Why? Because a manager who feels he is on the ropes was trying to save Diaz (even though he had him up in the 8th) UNTIL the Dbacks scored four to tie it. He played it (poorly) like it was a must win (for him).
Then he goes to Diaz hoping they wont blow the game and he is the best option to hold down the fort. All of your calls are correct.

If Callaway felt it was a must win you send Diaz out there for a 5 out save. Complete incompetence waiting until extras to use him

So now Dom Smith has a bruised thumb. Always something.

It didn't become desperation to him until gsellman gave up the game tying homerun

Nice to get a win last night. Tough stretch until the All Star break.

Last year many felt the Mets farm system was barren. Today McNeil and Alonso are the best players on the team. Hard to imagine what this team would look like without either of these kids. Way better than anything we could have hoped for.

Mets are just tough to root for. No one can tell me winning is not about attitude and frame of mind. Mets know how to lose, from the top to the bottom of the organization, If they hit, they don’t pitch, if they pitch they don’t hit, if they do both, the bullpen collapses. They sign a free agent, they underperform. I am a fan and always will be but it is hard.

The best example of your point is Edwin Diaz. Last year best closer in baseball. Clearly dominant. This year he looks and feels like Rojas/Looper/Benitez/Franco/Familia rolled into one. Frustrating.

Agreed

Our old friend Hansel Robles is having a better year on the Angels on a one year 1.6 million dollar deal then Diaz.

COME GET US!!!!!!!!!!

Lethal combo, horrible bullpen and a manager who has mastered the art of changing pitchers after the damage is done.

Would like an explanation as to why we can role out Lugo for multiple innings but Diaz above 3 outs is off limits.

You can't make this stuff up.[/quote]
Good thing this was just a lot of shouting. Vargas would have broken his hand when he’s finally pitching well.

Because Mets.

Not a Mets fan but I have to say. The media are the most two faced people in the world. I wasn't there and I've seen various accounts where the facts seem cloudy no matter what way you look at it. But they write whatever they want, say whatever they want, take potshots whenever they want, but then throw their hands up in the air and get on their soapbox when someone throws it back in their face. Not condoning Vargas beating the hell out of him, but Mickey IMO is within his right to say what he said dealing with this media like he does. And yes I know he's paid handsomely. But that doesn't mean the low paying media can do what it does on a daily basis and then cry when a manager tells them to blank.
