2019 NY Mets

James Dolan offering to buy the Mets and do for the Mets what he did for the Knicks.[/quote]

Knick fans can only hope they get bought as well.

Come to think of it the Jets, the Giants, the Knicks, the Rangers, the Devils all could use a new owner....not exactly the halcyon days for NY/NJ sports ownership.

Where is George Steinbrenner when you need him?

Can't fault the Mets on mot dropping that kind of money on Wheeler. Gives you an idea what Thor might get if he breaks out finally, or even if he doesn't so long as healthy

Forget about the HOF pitchers already mentioned. But what would Jim Maloney, Chris Short, Dean Chance, Claude Osteen, Bob Veale, sam McDowell earn in today's market? Jim Perry, Vidal blue, Blue moon Odom, Mickey Lolich? Jim Bunning, milt Pappas, dave McNally's, mike Cuellar, mel stottlemyre?

Probably 100 million plus for each of them. All better than Wheeler.

The Wilpons have already done to the Mets what Dolan has done to the Knicks.

As to George, the Mets have just gotten the equivalent to that "pardoned" felon, so maybe Cohn will be the "second coming" if he passes the MLB "sniff" test. He has the real money and has extreme desire to win in business based on his "retention" policies--do good or go home, Should be interesting if Wilpons think he will allow a 5 year transition.

I could just see the Mets getting fined for various violations of MLB policy, like the $1.1Billion fine by the SEC imposed on Cohen's company.

Cohen already paying huge dividends as Mets resign reliever Brian Brach for $850,000.
