2019 NY Mets

Alonso just crushed his first home run. Really like the vibe this year. Great to have Chili Davis as the hitting coach.

Holy shit it's almost like you are on a message chain with some of my friends. Literally was telling them a half hour ago I'm big Chili fan. 444 feet. Dom Smith with that opposite field single too.

161-1

and it went 112 miles per hour holy rocket launcher, love him!

First game I didn't like was tonight. Hitting stopped early and once again Callaway seems to be having problems managing the bullpen. Good to steal one every now and then though.

No, but enjoy. Did you or anyone happen to catch the article in the WSJ on Citi Field? Pretty eye opening.

Thanks. I just read the article. I knew we played and hit worse at home but the exit velocity stat was fascinating. I hope they can get things figured out.

Assume most of you guys saw it but my brother sent me a great pull out section from the March 28th New York Times on the 1969 Miracle Mets. Really enjoyed reading it. About 15 pages long.

Great comeback win by the Amazings today after I thought Familia had blown it.

Wow, that means it's been 50 years and 5 days since my first baseball game.

Are there any plans for a 50 year reunion at Citi Field this season? That might be worth flying out for.

Yes, a buddy of mine has tickets for the game where they are honoring the members of that team. I am pretty sure it is June 29th against the Braves.

Yes the 29th. It is a 4:10pm game. The 28th is a 1969 Replica Jersey giveaway and the 30th is a 1969 Replica Ring giveaway to the first 15,000 fans. The 1986 ring they gave away in 2016 was shockingly nice. The game on the 30th is a Sunday night game which are thankfully 7:05pm now. First home series against the Braves. Also stadium address is changing to 41 Seaver Way that week and a statue of Seaver is being put up.

MJ did your brother and fiancée participate in the flyover this year? Great day except the Mets didn’t play well. I went with wife and adult son. I’m already 0-2 as I went to Twins loss. Still had fun. Team playing well. More hope than Johnnies. I recall a couple years ago you had pictures of flyover. Last year I know they missed. Time goes fast.

Yankee fans tend to overvalue their prospects. Mets fans are more likely to poke holes in their prospects. Once Alonso has the inevitable slump you will hear that he might be better served at AAA or he was rushed or his defense needs work. No one can maintain his current pace and adjustments will be made. However, he has the NCAA and minor league numbers that prove he was a very good bat that may have been overlooked. He did lead all of the minor leagues in HR and RBI last year while hitting a solid .285. That ain’t nothing.
