I dont know, maybe because he is the best coach available in the 2-3 mill price range! Would make us a contender instantly! We have seen how the previous up and comer, commentator, and sports legend have worked for us the past 20 years! In case u haven't noticed we went from a top 10 program in the late 90s to a laugher in the BE! No more! Slick Rick is coming!! Put it down on paper!

Never heard of him but if you look back I was in favor and pushed for 3 names last time PJ, Rick Barnes, and Bruce Pearl! Last time we kept quiet! These 4 years we kept quiet, never posted, and had a plan! Both parts of the plan worked! We got Mike, and now we will have Rick!!

I dont do games! What we do is stayed quiet for 4 years while the Mullin homers won the battle! We lightened up the checks, got Mike Cragg, wrote some checks and now we will have Rick! If its a joke where is Pitino today? Why did he miss his presser? And how come Mullin has not interviewed to replace a coach he knew was leaving for a week now?
 
The notion that St. John’s would pick Rick Pitino seems double toke-worthy.
But I do wonder if there’s anything to today’s buzz about Mullin stepping down.
Don’t know, but it doesn’t seem as crazy a rumor as earlier.
Whatever, I just hope things break in the right direction for the program and soon, whether it’s Chris returning with a revamped staff or that he steps aside on a high note.
This waiting for concrete news is agony!

Steve landed 2 5 star kids last year, and about to get the number 2 kid, in this class!

I hear you Monte. These variations on coaching change threads are starting to remind me of the Rice thread from last summer....
No matter how many times the same theories (conspiracy or otherwise) are repeated, we are just going to have to wait for some actual news on staff/players. Pretty sure guys like Heron & Simon want to know staff makeup before making their decisions on next year.

Little shocked by mkras coming off way different than a few short years ago! The banning process will not be needed! I will go back dormant! But remember who told you what was coming! Back to UNC and my buddy Steve Robinson! Boy did he crush it with #1 pg announcing next week, wouldnt be surprised if he gets Precious!

Thought you said you didn't know who Steve Robinson was? How about this - if Pitino gets the job, I'll never post again; if he doesn't, you never post again.
