Mullin should ask Kotite to come coach too when Matt leaves.

Chris should resign as a favor to the school he loves. We need a coach. How many years has it been since Louie? Lots of teams have a coach. Why can't we?

[quote="JohnnyFan" post=333115]Heard Matt is taking a different flght than the team.

They beat Butler tonight, so it's going to be awhile before we hear anything on that.

If that is going to happen, I'd have rather they lost, so we could have moved on quickly.

I don't even understand why he would want to come back. Notice how Bobby Hurley stood up the whole game and was engaged with his team, while Mullin sat next to coach Mitch sulking and not doing anything (as usual). The successful coaches in college basketball are eat sleep and breathe coaching, and recruiting. Heck Coach K has absolutely nothing to prove to anyone, and yet he still is in high school gyms recruiting players. Mullin just doesn't have that desire it seems. Which is fine, just resign, and let Cragg hire someone who does for the sake of everyone involved with the program. This program is going absolutely no where with Mullin in charge, he is just lazy and incompetent.

When does the real fun begin? When will we know who from the staff is leaving, and who's coming.
If Chris wants staff to stay put, will Cragg force a change?

My guess is nothing will happen until atleast the week after the NC game.

If Chris doesn't step down or no changes to the staff are made, I'll be done with sju.

I think the same...he doesn't even act like he wants it and even when he says he does all we get is 32 games below .500 in conference play and crapping the bed every year BET and beyond. Not putting effort in recruiting. No show gig that pays well.

I think both sides have go to know it isn't working out. I don't see any future with Mullin at the helm. I love LJ, Simon, and Heron, but even if they all came back next year in addition to all our transfers and recruits what's the ceiling? Maybe being competitive in the Big East and making the NIT?

We're not paying our coach $2 mil a year (which is a lot for SJU) to be mediocre. I'd be more than willing to sacrifice all the above players leaving and being absolutely horrible for 2 years to get a coach in here who actually wants to coach, and has a plan for the program going forward.

In case the ledge wasn't crowded enough, our off season begins with.......

Replace two assistant positions. Slide Mitch to special advisor. Any preferences?
Would Rasheen Davis be a target? He is really good out there. Him and Matt would be a strong duo.

Need better staffing and experience aswell. Can't keep promoting grads. Need real experienced guys behind the scenes. Spend some $.

And you would just love to burn everything down, just for the sake of it, while merrily playing your fiddle.

Good one Nero.

Look at the body language and some of the quotes down the stretch. The team fell apart. The guys checked out. Now they’ll either transfer out of leave for pro ball somewhere.

How could u blame heron for not being happy here? He’s playing out of position, guarding guys 5 inches taller than him. Offensively we run schoolyard offense. Chucking 3’s or standing around watching ponds go 1 on 1.

I say screw it. Keeps things exactly as they are and watch the ship sink. After next season total house cleaning. Top to bottom .

I'd honestly be shocked if any of our current freshmen spend their sophomore years at St. John's.

These type of answers do not contribute much. I know stating opinions like they're facts is the way of the internet. Most of those quotes are just standard player talk. Of course when it fits an agenda people run with them.

While Heron is a good player he is limited in creating shots and making those around him better. Too many times he put his head down and rushed the hoop looking for a highlight dunk or shot contested jumpers. He did do an admirable job in the post many nights. If his knee wouldn't have been an issue this season is a little different. I hope he comes back next yr and doesn't feel like he has to force his offense.
