2017 Transfers

I am not knowledgable enough to list any particular names to fill the center slot with a grad transfer but the fact is that we didn't need a skilled player but someone who can provide some ten to fifteen minutes a game.
IMO the departure of Sima last year hurt more than most realize. Playing the Big East schedule with Owens who because of his propensity to foul and lack of strength and stamina limit him to about twenty five minutes a game and Yawke!s inability to hit even ten ft shots let his defender stay in the paint and prevent the two guards from preventing was too much to overcome.
The addition of Clark will help but this is still a major weakness.

Lets no forget his foul shooting!

Maybe Mo read or heard about the call from posters that we need an immediately eligible transfer big the same as he did about a call for an X and Os coach and he just wants to show us who is in charge of the program.

While SJU is still trying to get on solid footing I still find it strange that the staff couldn't bring in a grad transfer to play center next season. The rest of the roster appears solid, the need for a big man is compelling and SJU plays in a top league with a shot at post season play.
Some transfers went to higher rated programs but others went to less established programs. It is still a head scratcher. Most transfers are attracted to immediate playing time and our situation must be near the top of that list.

We are passable low post presence away from being a tournament team. We are a good low post presence away from being a very dangerous team in the tournament.

We are waiting patiently and expect something soon.

Exactly. And that's what is so vexing.

Cal's Kameron Rooks tells me he has received his release and intends to be a grad transfer

GO GET HIM MATTY.

Weird, Cal as of yesterday thought he was staying and that the transfer rumors were just that.

7' 270lbs, another guard. :silly:

Would love it but this guy is totally west coast. My guess is he ends up at a place like San Diego St.

JUCO big man Romaro Gill (Vincennes) has committed to Seton Hall, per a source. #shbb

Wasn't that where we got Glen Williams.

Speaking of which he is getting inducted into local Hall of Fame next Friday at Sirico's.

Must be fake news. I was told there were no more big men. :)

Just because another team signs a big man doesn't mean he's any good. He's also likely red shirting next season per Zach B

I agree......just a little levity.

OK why does your levity always involve taking shots at our program? If it makes you feel uncomfortable you could even take it out of the Big East. Here's some starter material for big men:

Jim Boeheim

Akok

Cockburn

Maybe because our program offers up so much material. We need a big so bad he doesn't have to be good. Not like our entire roster is always filled with only good players. Sometimes there is a position of need that is better off filled with a not so good player as opposed to no one at all.

True. I was just hoping for some funny responses and didn't mean to pick on Johnnyfan. Thanks for ruining it! ;)
