I agree, but very hard to recruit a kid and tell him he's gotta play behind a good trio of guards for a year. Much easier when the kid has to sit out that year and then take Lovett's spot.

Cal State Northridge guard Kendall Smith told ESPN he will be a grad transfer. Averaged 16.7 points, 4.8 assists this past season.

Did Heron himself say this, or unidentified sources? Can see announcing a timeline when you are mulling over the draft but not a transfer.
