2017-2018 Season

If we are on the bubble and a team with a similar profile didn't play a D-II team is as well, they will get the nod over us. Hate non-exhibition D-II games.

Unfortunately I have Season Tickets and it is part of the package as I would think you would know.

The fact we could not find a Division 1 team for that date is surprising

Would you have preferred paying for two exhibition games against D3 schools? Even at $15 a game, I wouldn't

So do I, every time we play a Div. 2 or 3 team the ticket price is lower. We're adding an exhibition game so maybe you'll get your money's worth that way.

OTOH, if we lose the game it'll give you another chance to think Mullin should go after the season.

I do not have an issue paying for exhibition games. However, regular season games should be versus D1 Schools and not Molloy!

Three out of conference losses would be fine

Hoping they beat Mizzou, they'll probably lose to WVU.
They'll lose to Duke most likely.

They'll probaby have another loss some where.

I hope 10-3 at the worst.

11-7 (I'm hoping for) in conf puts them at 21-10, maybe another 2 wins in the conf tourny.
I'd say 23 wins is enough to make the ncaa.

9-4 ooc would be ok too I guess, can't go 8-5.

If you assume that you need to go .500 in conference to make tournament, plus 1 BE tournament win and 10-3 OOC should get us in the NCAA. 9-4 OOC with the previous assumption would probably get us in with 19 wins. These are both big ifs -

Mizzou could end up being better than WVU depending how quickly they gel. Team is loaded also have some size and beef which could be a problem for us. But I'd rather be playing them early than late. That said Martin had had loaded teams before that failed to develop. Seemed to me that Cal was poised to be an early 90s UNLV like team but just never did it. Now they are poised to go back into obscurity.

10-3 should be the expectation, 9-4 a worst case scenario. I'll say West Virginia, Duke and ASU will be the losses, and the St. Joe's game is probably the other one that could go either way.

As still early in season, I think Adocare care 1st game vs. Oregon St or 2nd game if they win won't be easy.

Don't sleep On Grand Canyon, their fans are crazy and it'll be a virtual home game for them. Plus add in we'll be travelling across three time zones with a 5-6 hour flight = classic trap game.

At least it is Phx where the elevation won't be a factor like it was when we had the NCAA game in Denver.

the Gonzaga blowout ? That's the game that the redmen.com guys flew out there and started the campaign for legalizing marijuana after that blowout to dull their senses

I'm in the Bay Area, so I've had the chance to listen to longer interviews with him, and they were fantastic. You could tell that it easily translates into being a great recruiter. Not so hot of a bench coach, though. But not horrible, so I think whatever school he coaches at will be a threat in the tournament if they catch fire. But I'd also think long and hard about taking a mid-major with multiple three-point shooters over his teams in an upset.

That OOC schedule looks like 10-3 to me. However, I think we gotta get back to .500 in conference before we start talking about 20 plus win seasons and NCAA bids.

Per Zags re New Orleans
Mitchell Robinson has eliminated New Orleans from consideration, per source. Seems like Kansas or Western Kentucky. Hasn't committed yet.

May as well schedule all games against BE caliber teams from football conferences. Playing teams from other conferences present us with no gain and too much to lose. I realize it will never happen.
