IF we get a Grad Big, it’s a ‘win’ for us. If not, his defection weakens our BE-ready depth.
I wish him success but am disappointed in his decision.
But life goes on.

Chicago, the way I look at it, he gave us two very good years with always 100% effort at a time we needed any help we could get, did the schoolwork and graduated. I personally wish him the best.
Wish him the best. “Leave the gun, take the cannoli.”

Yup. Now let’s get that Grad Big.

Heard some buzz in Ct. AAU circles that Mustapha Heron, who has not signed with an agent, may opt to stay in college, but leave Auburn. Sitting out does not make sense, but perhaps he wants to play closer to his Ct. home. Interesting

Per Goodman
If Jared Harper and Bryce Brown both return to Auburn (as expected), the Tigers should be a Top 25 team again next season. Adding Wiley and Purifoy. The wild card remains Mustapha Heron — who still hasn’t signed with an agent.

He's withdrawing from the draft and transferring, per Zags. Even if he wanted to play for us, can we really go into this critical year with 3 sit out transfers on the roster? Or could we tell one of the guys already on board there was a problem with their paper work?

Still have that. I thought the NCAA ended it. Oh well, if it helps land Heron, I am all in.

I could be mistaken, but absent further changes by the NCAA, I do not believe the hardship waiver rules currently allow for immediate eligibility - only an extra year of eligibility. This is based solely on my rudimentary google research however.

No, but more stringent. Edited prior post on WSU player getting hardship waiver. He only applied for one recently.

That means Shamorie has to be leaving.
That is definitely a reasonable way to look at it but I think the staff would be looking to add Heron regardless of whether Ponds was coming back or not including a hardship waiver. He is that good either way.

If Ponds does leave then obviously Heron and his eligibility becomes even more important.

But then you have a serious log jam on the team since Shamorie and Mustapha play the same position.

Wasnt this the reason that Mustapha went to Auburn?

If he was looking at the NBA draft why would he even consider sitting out next year in college?
