Kennesaw State transfer James Scott tells me he will visit Virginia Tech from April 13th-15th. Averaged 17.3 PPG last season. Two years of eligibility remaining.
Not sure SJU was knocking Scott’s door down for a commitment. He was here for a brief visit, not an official like Va. Tech

He played well against tougher competition, he's got a year to sit and get better against our guys in practice, and if he doesn't pan out, we have a big guard off the bench and he transfers the following year without penalty anyway. I'm not exactly sure what the staff looks for, but over the past few years we seem to have passed on kids who could contribute.

I'm guessing then, that he's more of a "last resort" option. It does make sense that the staff would prefer a graduate transfer, to a sit-out, at this time.

Because of the Slice debacle and the fact that we are too cheap to hire another assistant, Mullin should be out recruiting more. Cant just depend on Matt, and blame Matt for our recruiting woes.
Promoting Mitch to an AC slot really made little sense if he was not going to be reasonably active on recruiting front.
I’m very surprised that Mullin and Richmond are not actively recruiting in the off-season at least. Going back a couple years, I thought the ‘plan’ after the Slice debacle was to get Mitch to be able to recruit with Mully.
The image of 2 HOFers visiting recruits in their homes would be imo a powerful selling point to high-end recruits.
That it hasn’t transpired is as puzzling as it is disappointing.

I agree LJSA. Scott performed very well against high-major competition and is a quick, big Guard. He seems a nice ‘placeholder’ to have on board in the likelihood that Shamorie leaves after next season, and a slot I thought we could afford if we do have 3 ‘ships to give—the other two ideally going to bigs.

As far as plan for Richmond to recruit after Slice left.....doubt it.

Prob he was OK going to a few big tourneys but can't imagine he had intentions to travel the country to sit in gyms, living rooms and calling/texting kids.

Then what is he for? Rhetorical question.

Yeah, but he probably loved the miserably cold, damp weather.

He might not love it, but it's not like he's never experienced it before.

As Paultzman has said (kind of), why promote Mitch to assistant coach if the plan wasn’t for him —and Mully—to recruit...together...?

If someone here knows of an actual plan Mullin has please share!

Ummmmm.... Creating Club Med? Is that it? But, I was chastised for having ill will (please.... get real) and was only spewing my opinion on the matter. I don't say such things without any validity. Not my style.

I'm just hoping there will soon be a change how our staff goes about their business when it comes to recruiting.

Fordham’s Joseph Chartouny has received his release and is looking to transfer for his final season, sources told ESPN. Grad transfer, A-10 ROY who averaged in double-figures all three seasons at Fordham.
California guard Don Coleman is transferring. Led the team in scoring at 14.2 per game.
Wonder what that means for Jordan’s Brown going there?? Probably means he’ll pick the Zags!

Coleman is kind of a pain in the ass, though, so maybe Brown won't mind.

What's known of Luke Schultz, 6'11", 230 lbs., Freshman looking to transfer from Montana St.?
24 points, 18.5 rebounds as a High school senior. Limited playing time at Montana St.
