2016-2017 Season Thread

I was wondering how the old Jack Williams is doing in his freshman year of college........wherever that may be! ;)

It's common now but when I was a kid it was considered avant garde and edgy for a teen to have purple hair. I always thought that was silly since it was hardly cutting edge. you could go into any beauty parlor or church and find a dozen elderly ladies with blue / purple hair and when my school banned it we all had a laugh because our octogenarian English teacher was bucking the rules..

now however I find this latest trend really disturbing. young ladies dying their hair gray. (confirmed with my daughter that this is in fact trendy for some).

But if Ali B wants to look like he belongs in a Wham! video (previous pic his hair had a pink hue), who am I to complain?

I actually find the grey look pretty sexy, but then again I love the prematurely white look on a lady if done well.

Funny story, my son's friend bleached his hair last year. This year new rule at his parochial school (no my son does not attend that with him, come on), no bleached hair. He did look a bit crazed by it. LOL

In my teens back in the mid 1950s I worked in midtown Manhattan, I actually thought the strange shades
of women's hair were natural. You just can't beat young ladies with white hair if it is done right

The Big East is now expected to release its conference schedule for the 2016-17 season next Tuesday, sources told @CBSSports.

Per Zach B
Chris Mullin expects Darien Williams, coming off shoulder surgery, to be full go when practice starts next week #sjubb

@scatpoppa (Elijah Holifield): "Much love for Staten island campus. Tonight was fun.... excited for the season!!"

"They filled the gym". Now if only those Staten Islanders could afford to cross the Verrazzano Bridge without taking a loan to watch Bethune Cookman, we would be in business! I think there was once a bus service to games from the SI campus but I could be wrong. It was operated by Sick Transit Gloria Moonbeam, Inc.

Yeah fill the gym here is literally 100 ppl. Most of the muscle heads here heard "free gym night" and they all think coming looking to lift.

Great show of support by the St. John's administration

Bobby, the Provost, the Board of Trustees and the Dean's of CBA, CPS, SJC and Pharma, as well as several professors attended

Time set for Bethune Cookman 9pm on Friday.

The exhibition time has been added for 7pm Halloween night as well.
Times are all set now.

Bad news for one of our non-conference opponents.

Minnesota's Davonte Fitzgerald will miss the 2016-17 with an ACL tear, per release. Tough blow for the Gophers. Was going to be in rotation.

How many of these gametimes changed?? I don't remember there being this many 6:30pm starts originally

Per Jon Rothstein:

Hearing more and more that St. John's is leaning heavily towards using Bashir Ahmed at PF. Built like an ox. Would live at FT line. #SJUBB

Or maybe some time for Little Richie. Ahmed has some 3 point range so him at the 4 and Yakwe at the 3 doesn't make much sense.

I am with Maher on this one, especially since Ahmed can shoot the 3. Seems Ahmed should play the 3 and Yakwe the 4.

Rothstein just throws stuff against the wall. Yakwe will play where he left off. Ahmed did not come here to be a PF either. Occasionally perhaps.
