2015-16 Official Schedule Thread

Only 5 Big East conference games at MSG this year. Last year, we had 6 + Duke at MSG.
I am not a happy camper.

Very disappointing. Who wants to see St. Francis at MSG, that shouldn't even be considered a MSG game.

Wonder if this reflects the financial situation at the school, and perhaps a cost cutting measure. Could be totally wrong of course.

I'm guessing that since the new Big East has newcomers and new rivalries take time to materialize, right now scheduling an Xavier game, as an example, at MSG will only bring out the Red Storm faithful which based on past years, results in a low turnout. However if you schedule local teams, i.e. Seton Hall, Providence, and dare I say St. Francis, those fan bases will be amped to play at MSG and come out in force. Although the Creighton fan base travelled well to MSG their first year in the Big East, that was solely due to All American Doug McDermott. I don't know many people living in NYC that went to Xavier, Creighton, or Butler but I know a lot folks that went to the Hall, Providence, and dare I say St. Francis.

I agree with your points. My point is somewhat different: is the SJU administration trying to build up a Manhattan fanbase or not? Because scheduling games at Carnesseca is a major turnoff to those who live and work in Manhattan. Not to mention New Jersey.

There are some odd times for a few games-11 AM on Sunday 12/6 at MSG for St. Francis, 6 PM on Friday 11/13 at CA for Wagner, 5 PM, yes, 5 PM on Wednesday 12/9 for Niagara on campus and 9 PM on campus for Xavier on Wednesday 1/6.

they don't serve beer till 12 on sundays I think which means I'll be standing with MCNPA outside on line at the beer booth watching the game waiting for them to open

Mike, the nog opens at 10 Sunday mornings.
Always lots of SJU fans there.
It's actually where I first met otis.
+1 for great drinking info

Brenie will be serving with a smile on his face.

You probably are. We are rebuilding and it's only a 2 game difference from this year to last. Not something to lose sleep over IMO

You can't really count the pre season NIT last year. Been replaced by Maui. Wasn't going to get an invite to CvC or any of the other big exempts at MSG in a transition year. St Francis replaces Fordham, Syracuse replaces Duke. BE schedule is what it is.

You aren't wrong in some sense. But STF is Holiday Festival. We pretty much always play crappy team in that. It is what it is.

i see 10-2 in preseason.

I see SJU getting swept by Nova, Butler, and G-Town.
Could see us sweeping DePaul and splits vs. everyone else.

So 7-11, 17-13 total.

Hopefully by March they start playing great together and run the B.E. Tournament, and make the NCAA.

To those that don't like predictions, just ignore it. It's just for fun.
and wioth 9 new players, I'm not putting pressure on him. In fact only because it's Mullin, I'll give him a 2 year pass.

Unless you're a season ticket holder, as this represents a further increase in the cost of season tickets since games in Queens are priced less than those at MSG.

Exactly. Jack up season ticket prices, and take away from games at MSG. Money is clearly the driving force here. This just is unacceptable, and should have been announced to potential season ticket holders, or rather loyal season ticket holders.

I may be wrong but I think last year's package included 2 x exhibition, 9 x OOC (including Holiday but not pre NIT or Brooklyn) and 9 x BE for 20 games. This year's 2/8/9 actually has one less game too. Where's the pitchforks?

And I wonder how the people who have to shell out a minimum donation of something like $2,500 or $3k to SJU to buy tickets in the first 10 rows at MSG feel about this. The school will get away with it this year. And they probably should, given the circumstances. But they won't next year.

Those who shell out that money its probably a pimple on their ass.

Not for everyone.

Tickets for the Mohegan Sun game are for sale if you are a citi card holder.

Was able to get on the court seats

Rredman#13, Thanks for the tip. I also got floor seats @ $80, not including tax. I believe there are 2 more floor seats left under the Citi pre-sale code and then seats will be made available to the general public, starting tomorrow.
