I don't expect JDR, Lipscomb or Stewart to see the court much unless Lavin starts one of them against Georgetown for the fun of it.

I might put ADR in there as well. He seems like a good long term project. Not sure how much impact he will have next year. That's why I still would like Martin to provide more depth up front and not force ADR into the lineup.

Where is the scoring going to come from next year?

This may be overly simplistic, but here's the list of our top 5 scorers last season. Sampson and Sanchez combined leave a huge hole.

Harrison -- 576 points
Sampson -- 424
Jordan -- 280
Sanchez-- 238
Greene-- 238

... and he will make everyone around him better just like a good quarterback for a football team.

+1 Simmons.
We weren't a good offensive team to begin with, we were actually an average defensive and rebounding team. Many people ignore the fact that long scoring droughts were our achilles heel. And now we have to replace Sampson and Sanchez.

Sorry to disappoint but there aren't any 15 PPG scorers available.

Seriously guys. Our guards will have to carry us. No different than Hardy carrying the scoring load.

Rebounding affords you extra possessions and therefore extra scoring opportunities. It also gives you a better chance of getting fouled and going to the line.

Sampson and Sanchez couldn't do that hanging out on the perimeter.

Numbers aside, D'Lo was our most aggressive rebounder. That is shameful.

Our 2 commits (ADR and Thomas) can both rebound and if they can't do anything else well, it'll prevent toothpicks like Tyler Harris from Providence out manning us down low.

+100 Toughness inside should be our signature next year. Scoring from Sheed, Dlo and Greene, combined with strong rebounding and drawing fouls should make us a better team. I am not one of those posters that tries to knock Jakarr and say that he wasn't a loss. He gave us good offensive production. I just think that we will play a stronger game inside than we did last year. I also like Sanchez's game, although I had been expecting a bit more. But I think we will be able to replace his numbers. Rysheed will be a beast next year.

Right. I'm sure opposing teams won't even consider smothering Harrison and Jordan, and they'll hardly notice that we lack wing shooters/ frontcourt scorers.

I too worry about Jordan & Dee getting doubled and/or trapped without that third scoring option at the three. Don't want them to get frustrated. Phil will complement the two prime time guards, but doubt he can fill scoring void. Hopefully, another proven shooter surfaces with all the player movement going on.

Long scoring droughts weren't helped by our PF and C having no understanding of chemistry and timing. They both would try to dribble at the worst moments possible and both took jumpers early in the shot clock with no rebounders.

You guys look at points and think we are screwed. I look at 70 three pointers taken by our front court at a 20% clip. I look at the missed frontends in the 2nd half....the # of long jumpers our bigs took with nobody under the basket...the complete lack of screening by anyone not named Obekpa. Who would you rather take a shot in ANY situation Jordan/Harrison or Sampson/Sanchez. Case closed.

Lets not forget Christian Jones has yet to play with a quality pg, the one game he really got to play with Branch was against Marquette two years ago. Branch had 8 assists, Jones had ten points. Our bigs will have opportunities to score because Jordan and branch will have options to pass to UNDERNEATH the basket.

Not sold on the current construction of this roster for next season. But I do not blame Lavin I blame myself a long time fan, alum, and season ticket holder. I could do more and do better. Heck, they pay me enough.

I think we will be able to tell early whether we have bigs who can score. I think Obekpa showed improvements offensively last season. Jones showed an ability to score with his back to the basket. ADR is up in the air. Thomas averaged double digits in jc, I think some of that will transfer. I think Thomas has that chip that will make him an impact player. Dom...if Dom attacks the offensive boards, slashes to the basket, and move off the ball, he could average a double double, if Dom chooses to continue walking/standing around the 3 point line, I think he will annoy everyone on this forum

I really think Pointer will be redshirted if Lawrence is added. Lavin has already talked about liking three guard sets, and Balamou and Lawrence will both be able to give minutes there. Christian Jones could play the three in a pinch. Another year of development couldn't hurt and he'd have three to four less experienced guards to compete with in 2015-2016.

You realize the player has to agree to redshirt right? Can't see Dom doing that.

He def does like his 3 guard sets but I wonder, assuming that JL wants to play the 3, if the primary lineup isn't Jordan/Harrison/Lawrence/Thomas/Obekpa. Having 3 guards on the floor along with JL away from the basket, we get zero second chance opps.

I think it all depends on how much offense Larence can provide at small forward. I know he wants to play there but he has to produce at least as much as Sampson did last year.
