#20 Marquette, Sat., Mar. 8, 12 Noon, FOX

We will be facing an angry and desperate marquette team on senior day on Saturday. This will be a true test for us. Maybe our toughest test of the year.

While no team wants to go into the BE tourney on a losing streak, game doesn’t matter that much to Marquette. They are locked into the 4/5 game whether they win or lose, and for that matter we’re locked into first place vs 8/9 game. Certainly wouldn’t call it meaningless since momentum is involved, but wouldn’t get all breathless about it.

Probably means more to us than it does to them since we’d like to tie UConn’s 18 win record set last year, but it still has no bearing on BE tournament seeding.

Jayden Ross just 3 minutes for UConn in Marquette game. Would look awfully nice as rotational piece here next year. Very high upside.

If there is anyone we should attempt to poach with money it might be Solomon Ball. This is just “fantasy basketball.”

Team we're playing loses their previous game: "(team) will be fired up/angry/desperate/have a lot to prove. I have a bad feeling about this."
Team we're playing wins their previous game" "(team) is raging hot/feeling good/on a roll. I have a bad feeling about this."

Every. Single. Time.

Shaka working on “violence” control preparing for SJU. Another modern term lately that is right up there w “running down hill”. 🤷‍♂️
Let's see if he can go 2-4 against the top of the league instead of 1-5.

It's sort of not his fault because he has nobody in the middle and good teams have figured out how to take advantage of that and offset the things his team does well.

On the other hand it's sort of his fault because if you went into the season with Ben Gold and Parham as your bigs, that's on you. You didn't need a world beater but you should have been able to find the equivalent of Oduro or Tyrese Samuel or somebody.

I think he had more than adequate resources to get a competent guy to defend the middle. It almost feels ”cocky” that he chose to go with “clone ball” w so many mid size guys knowing some BE opponents have good interior post play on both ends of court. On this one, from my bleacher view, he may deserve some criticism.

I initially felt we would lose a close one at M’Q, but we have been so solid on the road and could win this one. Our stakes are higher re Dance seeding than M’Q and assuming we have full complement of key guys, I feel better about another sweep. Hopefully, they are not on “Milwaukee Today” TV show an hour before the game. 😇

Hard to believe Theo John wasn’t available with some eligibility.

I get the feeling RP is more concerned with resting our battered starters, and having them ready for the tournament, than beating Marquette. I would love to see more of the bench players play under pressure to see what they can do against a team like Marquette.
