#20 Marquette, Sat., Mar. 8, 12 Noon, FOX

I get the feeling RP is more concerned with resting our battered starters, and having them ready for the tournament, than beating Marquette. I would love to see more of the bench players play under pressure to see what they can do against a team like Marquette.
They had a week off. I think that is enough rest.

Too much time off, and you can run the risk of becoming rusty.

Part of getting back into optimal shape though is practicing hard and playing a full game. With another layoff before BET, I expect us to put it into high gear.

Do think Marquette comes out with their hair on fire on Saturday.

I think we might see St John's best game of the season on Saturday. They have had alot of time not only to physically rest but mentally rest as well.

I think Rick has been telling them that this sat is a championship caliber game. And how they play sat is going to set the tone for the postseason.

If a national championship is the goal, then the road to that starts sat.

Lets go!!!!

Fellow Redmen !!

Listen up, folks - resting our players before Marquette? That's like practicing your free throws with a beach ball! This Marquette matchup is EXACTLY the kind of game we need to prep for March Madness. Top-20 team? Check. High-pressure environment? Check. National TV audience? Double check!

Our guys have already had a full week to ice their bruises and binge-watch film. Any more "rest" and they'll be bringing pillows to the court! Playing elite competition like Marquette is the perfect barometer for tournament readiness.

Even IF we come up short, it's not a loss - it's a high-level practice exam before the final. The tournament committee will be watching, and so will every potential bracket-buster we might face. This is our chance to show what Red Storm basketball is all about!

I'm expecting maximum effort, crisp execution, and the kind of fight that makes Pitino's blood pressure spike (in a good way). My prediction? Milwaukee Art Museum 75, Empire State Building 81. The New York skyline will shine a little brighter Saturday night!

Now who's with me? Let's STORM Milwaukee!

Marquette has two days to prepare for this game. It's challenging for a team to prepare for us with 7 days rest, 2 is a major problem.

Still, in addition to the health of our guys, outcome may come down to whether our guys are fresh after the 7 day break, or rusty. With our coaching staff and what this team has shown this year, I would bet on the former, but you never know for sure. I'll go with the prediction below:

Brian Mahoney: 85
Kevin O'Neill: 81.

Fresh or Rusty?
How many more rusty game starts can a team have in one season than we have had haha!

Tough one to win on their court. Would not be shocked if we lose, and would rather lose this one and get to the finals of the BET. Still and all, would prefer only one more loss going into tourney whivh would give us a great shot at a 30 win season, which is elite IMO.

In recent years the committee has seemed to show they don’t care as much about conference tournament runs as they do the regular season. Gimme this win for our resume.
