Didn't take any 3s according to stats. Mid year transfer candidate and would we be interested to fill last schollie?

Brooklyn kid comes home.. love it. Fill that ship and let’s get after it. We do have a bunch of guys like this but he scores inside and is versatile.

I’d pass here. His only two games against big competition last year he was pretty bad. Putting up 11 ppg in that conference doesn’t wow me. He can’t shoot from outside. If we had a complete team he would be good gamble but we’re not there yet.

Agree. We can do better.

Would definitely pass. 3rd team All Sun Belt Conference is no big deal.

Remember, he was playing with Markquis Nowell, from Loughlin, who was 1st team All Conference. The fact that after having some success at a Mid Major school, then wanting to transfer, makes me think that he and his handlers have an inflated idea of his talent and potential.

UALR won the Sun Belt Conference last year, why not stay and build on that. At 6'7 and 215 lbs, he is not going inside against Big East competition. There is no evidence that he can shoot well enough to have opponents guard him out to the 3pt line. To me, he is a smaller version of Josh Roberts who has developed into a decent player for us.

Additionally, I do not think that after transferring from UALR where he was a starter, he would adjust well to coming off the bench at St. Johns in Coach Anderson's system. I may be wrong, but I don't believe that he would be a good fit for our program, since he would be in the same class as Williams, Roberts, Earlington, Moore, Cole, and Caraher.

Only 2 games against real competition (NC State and Memphis) he was awful...2-13 or something like that one game. I know it's early in CMA's tenure, but we are past the point of just needing bodies. We should only give ships to those who make us better. Maybe he would, but the stats scare me.

I'm confused on your logic... In the Carlos Curry thread, you said he's a "must get" and he averaged 0.7 PPG / 0.7 RPG against "real competition." But Johnson was a starter that averaged 11 PPG / 6.7 RPG for a team that won their conference and put up a double/double against the #16 team in that nation and it's "we're past the point of just needing bodies."

Just looking at the high major teams that are after Johnson and the high major teams that are after Curry... Johnson is the more sought after prospect... Johnson has had St. John's, Arkansas, Miami, and DePaul after him, and Curry has had St. John's, West Virginia, and Oregon State as the high majors after him the rest are all mid-major schools.

I don't have the connections with St. John's like I do with Arkansas, so I can't speak on the interest level St. John's has, but I can tell you that Eric Musselman wants him, and all reports in Arkansas right now is there's high interest from Arkansas' side and they are working hard to get him. Musselman's specialty is transfers, he knows exactly what to look for in them, and he gets the most of them. If both CMA and Musselman are looking at him, I know enough about both of them that I trust he'll be a player that can contribute on the high major level.

Athletes will be granted a penalty-free, 1-time transfer starting in 2021, per proposal sent to DI Council & obtained by @SINow. It’s expected to pass in January.

FB/BSK players must notify school of transfer by May 1 each year.

From @ByPatForde & me

Lets be fair though in that game vs. #16 team. He shot 2 of 13.

Arkansas has landed a commitment from Little Rock transfer Kamani Johnson, source told ESPN. Third-team all-Sun Belt. Will be eligible next season.

good for Arkansas. Part of me wonders if this wasn't a bit of a head fake on the part of our staff, that Ark fell for. I don't see how this kid fit anything we needed.

Anderson thinks he's going to keep recruiting on our turf? We'll show him!

No harm here.
Now any chance that Finnish kid wants to get back into 2020?
