Amazing how the Ivy league can snag players who would be the best player on our team.

Well, an Ivy school degree is a significant draw for those who know an NBA career is not likely.

It would be amazing if it were in fact true that he'd be the best player on our team. But it's not.

The Ivies are handcuffed in recruiting by the "Ivy League Index" which sets parameters on who each school can recruit.

The majority of D1 players who qualify for admission under the Index would be well advised to attend an Ivy if their families income qualifies them for financial aid.

In addition, the Ivies do not give athletic scholarships but offer a grant in aid which is based on the combined earnings of a person's parents; no free ride if upper middle class.

I don't follow their recruiting, but I'd be in on every top Jersey kid if I were them. Positioning themselves as the "It" destination for kids who want to leave home is smart when you consider their competition for top Cali kids.

Louisville has landed San Francisco grad transfer Charles Minlend, he told @stadium.

Obi Toppin’s younger brother, Jacob Toppin, has decided to transfer from URI, source told @Stadium.

Is he any good or is he more of a Frank Stallone/Don Swayze type compared to his brother?

For someone like him, the only real reason to leave is to chase a national championship -- but picking the future winner is a crapshoot anyway.

Scouts probably already know who he is, and if they don't, he'll average like 23 ppg there next season.

Exactly.

Bobby Hurley just added Ohio State transfer Luther Muhammad, he told @Stadium. Hard-playing, tough wing who should fit in well for the Sun Devils.

Wasn’t SJU hot and heavy after Muhammad when he was coming out of high school? I guess he never panned out for Ohio State?
