World Cup

What do the results mean?
It is probably going to come down to goal difference with Wales. After that showing yesterday I have zero confidence that we will tie, let alone win against England. So if all goes to form and Wales and the US lose to England and beat Iran, then it will come down to goal difference. But I have an eerie feeling about the Iran game, you can't measure hatred and how it will affect teams, and they hate us.

Even if we get out of the round we're probably going to flame out early.

Time to get rid of Bergholter (sp.) and rely on MLS players who can be closer and more available to the team ongoing. Outside of Adams and Pulisic none of the European players did anything. We need a striker big time.

Talk about hatred…how do the Welsh feel about England?

It doesn't seem logical but not many people thought Saudi Arabia would win over Argentina today either.
Wow didn't see that one coming but you can bet that almost every non Argentine fan was rooting for the Saudis. Now if only Neymar would go out in the first round.............

Argentina upset by guys playing in robes was one of the greatest WC shockers of all time. Messi may never go home again if Argentine doesn't advance out of group.

If you aren't wayching the Socceroos have scored first against France. French really hurting without Benzema and Pogba.

Man, Germany blew that match. Terrible substitutions by Flick. Actually, terrible coaching by Flick. The curse of Klose continues as this team can’t finish at all. The team actually…looked scared.

Also…to add…rewatching Japan’s 2nd goal, just a terrible job by Neuer there. Hands down and he twists away from the shot.

Surprised mjm isn’t boycotting WC after the decision to ban beer. 🤣 Reportedly between 5 and 6 thousand workers died building the stadiums for the WC in Qatar. Fing sick and disgraceful that the games were awarded to Qatar. Obviously greed and corruption on FIFA’s part. Glad I’m not a soccer fan so it makes it easier to not care one bit about the WC.

I guess I'm lucky Peru didnt make it otherwise if we went there I'd be furious and end up on the next episode of " locked up abroad "

Spain seems in prime form; won't have any goal differential issues. Belgium "survived" Canada. The Golden Boys of the last 2 Euro Cups (quarter finals) and 2018 WC (3rd place) could be on last go around DeBruyne now in 30's along with many others and My favorite, Lukako ( a huge presense on the field that is unique), out injured. I'd hold him out until round of 16, especially if they beat Morocco in next match.

Beat Iran and we are through. Not a gimme though but we should have enough to win.

Just like the Wales game, we could have got 3 points and were the better team. England were there for the taking and did not offer much. US held them in check and England should have received several yellows for studs up / late tackles. Thought Dest, Adams and McKennie were very good. For such a young team, we played with a lot of maturity.
