So far overall happy with team performance. The treend has been poor first halves and solid second halves. NOt sure why team seems to come out slow. Excited to see the development of Storr and the evolution of Jones and Soriano. Posh is Posh the straw that stirs the drink. Montez has been steady which has been a welcome sight

Had a meeting last night that made me miss all but last 7 1/2 minutes of the game. When I turned it on Johnnies were up 54-38. Have to say our starting five have looked very solid so far. Really pleased with play of Curbelo & Mathis. Posh is the only one of the starters who hasn't quite looked like he's in sync yet but not worried about him, he'll be fine. Hope Pinzon ankle injury doesn't keep him out too long, tough break for a kid who missed so much time last year.

lucky you. i wish i didnt see the first half of this one

Posh and Curbelo were must see TV on defense in that second half. Was a complete hostile takeover and it started with those two pressuring the ball. Their impact was felt on the other end as well. The Posh drive and kick to the corner for a Belo 3, gave us our lead and there was no looking back.

The Menace and The Maestro. But who’s who?

Not a reflection on him as much as makeup of team.
Artest came of bench his first year, not because he wasn’t one of 5 best just fit better
He fits great as a starter. Did you watch him last night?

If at any point this season CMA has Curbelo come off the bench, he should be fired on the spot.

CMA finally got it right this year. He has the correct starting 5 from game one. There will be no nonsense like the last few years where there is a new starting 5 every other game.

The only change I could see is if Storr really blossoms then he can supplant Mathis. The other 4 guys are locks to start all year.

Thank goodness CMA finally got it right!

Generally you would like one of your guards be able to hit a jump shot

But we dont have anyone like that on the bench anyway. Pinzon and Wusu should not be logging starter minutes.

If shooting is the concern, then you put Mathis on the beech and start Storr at the 3. You dont bench Curbelo.

Posh... for the said work on the jumper this summer... 0/7 from 3 to start the season.... BUT... 15/18 from the Stripe...

Would love him to keep the D somewhat honest cause his ability to get to the rim benefits this team...

Curbelo... 2/4... i know he's not touted as a shooter... but his form looks decent enough to try a couple more per game

Again not talking “benching”
Reduce his time with Posh by maybe 5 mins total especially at start of game.

While Posh’s outside game hasn’t been great, he still finds ways to get points at the rim, fill the stat sheet (though too many TOs today), and played harassing D on Nebraska’s PG who was their best player coming into the game and had 8 TOs tonight.
What's the story with their leading scorer ? He didn't even try to shoot for the major part of the game . Was our defense that good that it took him out of the game ?

You mean Greisel? Posh was on him most of the game. Plus he didn't seem to have great ball handling skills.

At the game I'm wondering how the big center with glasses, Breidenbach, is a Big 10 player. He was flat footed, slow and with no touch. His stat line from yesterday reflects that. Today I look up and see he was a 4-star top-100 recruit, also recruited by USC and Cal. It goes to show how largely irrelevant these ranking systems are.

I figured their regular PG was injured, ineligible, partying in Times Square or whatever.

It reminded me of Mahoney trying to have Derek Brown and Lee Green bring the ball up.

Curbelo is the Maestro, Posh the Menace. I reserve the right to change titles at a later date =]

Yea, he's like a 6'7 PG and posh was harassing him the whole 2nd half, it really bothered him and threw him out his game, he used most of his energy just trying to get the ball up the floor. It didn't show in steals department but Posh was putting on a defensive clinic last night.
