2022 Yankees

When you're struggling scoring runs, and you walk a bunch of guys, and your closer fails against a .137 hitter, and the Jays tie their game in the 9th inning, you are in trouble. A loss tonight sets the stage for a really bad road trip.

Let's see if this team has any heart here in the 9th inning. Cardinals are 4 for 8 with RISP.

They need to ride a reliever like Effross when he's on.

If you push him, and lose the game, I'll live with that. If you lose the next night, because he's not available, I'll live with that.

Not enough quality arms in the pen, to go to four or five guys every night, IMO.

Hicks is 0 for his last 27. How the hell is that possible? Yanks continue to run the bases with no clue. 2 more runners thrown out tonight in 6 innings. Can't give up outs when you cannot hit with RISP!! So Cortes goes 5 1 /3 innings and here comes Abreu. Good luck getting 4 clean bullpen innings tonight.
Another bad loss. Yanks run the bases worse than my Sunday morning softball team

They need Stanton and Rizzo back ASAP.

Please, no minor league rehab for Stanton. If he's healthy, that's just a waste, and if he's not, then he's going to get hurt anyway. Just call him up when he's ready to play games, please.

What a pathetic display of hitting, or non-hitting. Only consolation is that the Jays and Rays both lost. The way this team hits, there is no chance of postseason success. Yeah, I understznd that Stanton and Rizzo are out, but come in, there are so many holes when Hicks and Higashioka are in the lineup. Torres continues to be a mess. Let's see what the new guy has in store tomorrow.

They aren't going to blow the division but I can easily see it getting down to 2-3 games

I know, small sample size, but Monty yesterday and Montas today? SMH. Hope I have to eat crow before year is out.

game 109. this home plate ump is just the worse.
home plate is 17 inches wide, not 27 inches wide,

And, he called the guy from the Cardinals out at the plate, when Stevie Wonder could tell at full speed he was safe. I mean, it was a well-executed play by the Yankees, but he was safe by a lot. You have to question what he's seeing out there.

The Montas performance makes the Montgomery trade look even dumber!
So if Montas had pitched well and Montgomery had bombed trading Montgomery would have been a smart trade?

Did German pitching well on Friday make it a smart trade?

One bad outing or a good one doesn’t make it a dumber trade. But it still was a dumb trade no matter how you slice it.
