Rough start to the 2nd half, you can’t win with Soto and Lindor going 0-9 with 6 strikeouts.

The strikeouts are the most encouraging. I haven't seen this stretch...hoping they finally fixed his fastball. McLean had a rough go after Butto got the first inning as the opener of his last game. McLean can really put guys away, so I think he gets the nod for the 2024 Butto role come September.

The Athletic had a profile where Sproat said he was overthinking on the mound.

I hope we get at least two relievers at the deadline, and if we get hit by the injury bug again (or a guy like Stanek is unpitchable and doesn’t have options), someone like Sproat or McLean get the nod for the Kranick type role. No more waiver wire AAAA guys

Fillies just signed David Robertson. Hopefully, it’s just because the Mets are aiming higher. We need help in the bullpen. Kind of obvious.
 
Not a great win, but a win versus a very good pitcher.

Alvarez called back up. Let’s see if he can bring some energy to the bottom of the lineup.
 
Both us and the Phils have fairly difficult stretches coming up. This feels like a pivotal 2 week stretch foe the division.

Unfortunately Lindor has been painfully mediocre for a while now… kinda feels like the broken toe derailed his season
 
Nice work by Baty in the field and nice job by Brazoban to limit that inning to just one run.

But 5-2 is insurmountable with the at bats we have taken tonight. (Attempt at a jinx)
 
1 swing tells you a lot. Whatever Alvarez was doing in the minors should be translating here and could be a big boost!
