Going to the Cyclones game today.
Been to several Minor League games in the past. Salt Lake Bees had the most scenic park.
Saw a Bingo at Harrisburg game stadium was overrun by “Mayflies” off the Susquehanna River. Yuck. Insect guts all over. We caught deGrom and I called him a “future” closer. Son won’t let me forget. Proves I’m no scout.
Last one was a Savannah Sand Gnats game. None other than Brandon Nimmo starting CF. He just passed 1,000 games. Not bad. Best memory there was meeting a kid with a St. John’s tshirt at the concession stand at Grayson Stadium. It was Frank Violas’ family. He was the pitching Coach at Savannah that year.
Besides these anyone see any minor league games they liked or are worth seeing?
The independent New Jersey Jackals play at Montclair State U. - about 15-20 minutes from MetLife Stadium.
Nice ballpark but the real draw there is the Yogi Berra Museum - a celebration of his life, that era of Yankees, Dodgers, Giants and a nice section on his time as coach and manager of the Mets. He lived in Montclair for most of his life.
