New York Mets 2025 Season

Good to win the game. Still feel like this team is just not playing that well. I keep waiting for better offense. The 7 runs tonight was helped majorly by bad Angels defense. Seems like something is missing.

Doesn’t sound like the Mets will tinker with the offense at the deadline. Stearns sounded like maybe a couple of bullpen arms. He lowered my expectations that’s for sure.

They’ve been so crappy I’m just gonna enjoy a comeback win while I can. Adam Driver is the new Grimace. Baty and Alvarez really came through today. Big hit from Soto too and gotta mention the bullpen.

Agree on the maturity issue. Looking at the at bats he was not swinging at every ball thrown. Also he got rid of the beard and the big black crosses under the eyes which I always thought that they were put on by a priest with anger issues on Ash Wednesday.

I thought the black crosses were an attempt at an excorcism over his crappy play :)
 
Great win.

Offense is still a tough watch. Lindor is 0 for his last 30. Absolutely brutal right now.

But we got a big homer from Alvy and then grinded this one out. Great work from the bullpen. Rico Garcia had some good stuff

This has been and will be the Mets M.O. for the rest of the season. Offensively it’s either long balls or a long night.

Watching this team, I keep having flashbacks to the 2015 WS, game 4 I think:
For the Mets to win the game, they need a home run. For the Royals to win the game, they need a base runner.

He also had a 2-run game-tying single yesterday and homered the other day. Soto has been hot for a month and a half now. No one else has until the baby Mets have stepped up the past few games.

Angels went 3-1 over at Stinkee Stadium and also won a series in Philly against the team we are battling for the division. So yea while they’re not an amazing team or anything, they are feisty, and I think it’s “great” when you can find a way to win a game where the lineup really struggled
