Season Tickets

Does that mean existing season ticket holders will get to keep our seats?
No. The whole purpose of the reseating is to give existing STH an opportunity to select better seats in priority points order.

Since the last reseating they have expanded how points are earned to include donations to the university at large and not just the athletic department.

I just hope that the companies and individuals who have been buying multiple season ticket packages in very good seat locations for prgoitable re-sale purposes get pushed to the back of the line.

Because without donating, season active season ticket holders have accumulated 100 points per consecutive years as an STH. As soon as you don't renew the point from ticket purchases reset to zero. Lifetime donations (including mandatory red white donations!) do not expire.

The athletic department announced the re-seat months ago to give STH an opportunity to improve or retain seats by donations that will improve their priority point rankings.

I don't know why it's taken so long to cslculate points and contact season ticket holders. I suspect that by expanding how points are calculated that the university has delayed things.

But to be clear, season ticket holders who have donated the least will likely be impacted the most, especially those with great seats.

Unlike the previous re-seating decades ago (not including the msg renovation reseating) this reseating is being done after a terrific season with another great one anticipated. The sole purpose of the reseating is to leverage oncourt success to generate donations and reward donors with the best seats.

I'm not expressing a pro or con opinion here. Just tge facts as I know them.

Sure am glad I like the 200s... I have no problem paying for the season tickets. Whatever points I get from that, cool. They want to nail me with the ticket price, cool.

I just want to pay and move on.

Not knowing anything about the point calculations, cost of the 25/26 tickets or the split between season ticket holders and MSG only plans I see the following
which is pure speculation.

CA changes could impact the better seats but probably a small number of people.

MSG will be the seats closest to center court and the most as you get in rows closest to the court. This would probably impact people who were willing to pay more for season tickets in past but didn’t donate alot. The major risk here would be if brokers and corporations want these seats.

The lower bowl seats about 8,000 people less whatever they allocate for student tickets. That should leave plenty of room for the 5,500 or so current ticket holders to stay in the lower bowl if they choose. So for the 114 crew perhaps they move to 113 but my guess is they can stay where they are.

We are in 117 row 8 at MSG. Have had our season tickets for close to 50years,had 6 seats and cut to 4 three years ago. Have donated to Red and White and a bit to NIL last few years. Hopefully Im good. We only have a bout 10 other season ticket holders around us. Until this years was mostly opposing team fans. Very anxious to see how my points work out.

I am near dead center courtb about the same row as you. Also am shocked at how few season ticket holders are around me. I'm almost certain many of the seats around me were purchased for resale.

Your seats… and the sec 4/5/6, 10/11/12… are what I expect to see the biggest markup.

You have a ceiling/ threshold $? 25/50/100% increase where you don’t purchase those same seats?

(50 years- good for you man! Impressive)

"I'm almost certain many of the seats around me were purchased for resale".

Do you think that people who purchased these for resale are included in the rankings?

I think I'm speaking for all of us when I say that this can't happen soon enough. Rip the damn band aid off and let us know where we stand.
Literally minutes ago was just texting the 114 crew because we need to coordinate when we find out asap

I would guess at the same rules as everyone else applies.

Someone should clarify whether it is 100 points per season per ticket or per order.

Should be per ticket. I can't think of one logical reason why it would not.

Imagine paying $2000 for two seats, and getting the same points as a person that purchases one for $1000...

Well the inverse would be 8 friends put all their tickets under one account and get better seats locations than a person who just buy seats next to 7 friends who buy individually. I know a group near midcourt at CA who have done that for years.

My Dad started going with a friend, after about 5 years we took over the seats. Unfortuantely wasnt here to witness last season. He didnt even go to college but my Uncle played baseball at St.John's as well as Freshman basketball, that is how he became a fan.
As for threshold price, not sure. Need to see what the figure is first.

That's a great strategy.

The points should still be distributed per seat.

How Harry and his boys fund their seats / divide their points is irrelevant.

This is my humble opinion.

Excellent point. Hopefully the long awaited e-mail next week will provide some clarifications.

Regarding the "per ticket" or "per order" scenario what does the stated "5500 STH Holders" reflect (5500 accounts or 5500 tickets)?
If it's 5500 accounts, with assuming an average of 3 tickets per account (just a guess), that would equal more than 16,000 seats that are already season tickets which doesn't seem reasonable.

my guess would be 5500 tix. Wouldn't make sense more than that there wouldn't be enough room at CA for more.
