Season Tickets

I’m thinking our 114 crew will be good at msg will be interesting because I want to buy 4 more to sit with us so will see how that works out
 
I love how this season and the next few are going to be the best in years and we still have to hold our breaths about our seats. It makes you happy and sick at the same time. I have anxiety over one and happiness over the other but it really crushes my spirit.

Reality is $$$ is king and the little guy will always be the stuff that gets scraped off the big guys shoes...

I wish for once the actual fans win and the ones who give now will keep their seats during the hard times...We know they won't

Think you're a little light on your estimate of payroll. I had suggested $10 million in an earlier post, and it was quickly pointed out to me by Lawmanfan that with our roster, it probably can't be below $14 million. Which is probably right. And that is going to leave a massive revenue hole for the school - you are right that jacked up ticket prices will be the result. But it won't be enough.

now... why would the NIL Funded Roster by Significant boosters and us who contribute to the Funds.... be a "revenue hole" for the school?

Because I am assuming that the boosters aren't going to shell out $14 million on the players and the school will have to make up the difference, which will be in the millions. And increased ticket prices won't cover it. SJU already likely loses money on the basketball program- I say that because UConn loses money on their basketball program and they sell out every game, made more in TV revenue than us because of their 2 championships, etc.

What they could do is add NIL donation to ticket price. I believe Penn State football is doing that now.

this is the point of my question... as far as i understood... I didn't think athletes could be directly compensated by the school... can they? If they can't... how does any roster budget impact direct school financials?

(i'm not saying it doesnt* happen... just illegally.... as kids have been paid for decades now... )

New rules starting this season allow schools to directly pay the players.

The more the merrier ! We might have some other Redfan guys here moving to us too. It’s going to be a blast ! Bucketshardy even saying he won’t rush by us while juggling beer

One thing I will say is with 5K season tickets there is plenty of room for displaced ticket holders to find good seats facing the court in the 200s or high in the 100s or in the corners or behind the baskets. CA is another story

We actually prefer our high 114 seats. No one behind us more leg room and better sight lines. They offered to move us lower years ago for free and we said no

In all seriousness, I think we should all coordinate to not displace the 114ers depending on where their seats are. Worst case scenario would be people picking 114 to sit with them and then the OGs not getting their section.

Thx appreciate it. that's how we all ended up sitting together the first year of the new msg we all asked to sit together. The school told me a couple weeks ago they will be calling me soon then having a zoom with me then I'll know where our crew stands. Even if 1 person in our crew cant get 114 we are all sticking together and sitting somewhere together. But I think we are going to be fine where we sit in 114 and hopefully we pull some more redfans friends over

But definitely think I'll have an idea where we stand reasonably soon
