Around College Basketball

Alabama, Auburn, Tenn and Florida are four GREAT teams.

The rest of the SEC.. eh. Texas A&M has talent, but they will be overseeded and depending on the matchup, are my sneaky pick to get upset in the first round.
Agree with this. Undoubtedly, hey are the best conference this year. But, not deserving of 14/16 bids. That is the product of artificially high # of "Quad 1" which the committee uses (except when they want to ignore it, ala NC).

We will see how vaunted they are. I am sure that they will do OK and have a number of Sweet 16 teams. That is just due to the #s. But, let's see how ultimately they do. Per the metrics, they should have 3 or 4 Final 4 teams. I think they could get that, but they could also get 1 or none (doubtful). The tourney will either buttress or unmask the metrics used to do the 14/16.

I have no pony in the race (well I guess I do in StJ) but I just think the goal should be to get the best field. There are a few runners up in 1 bid conferences that I think are better than some of these lower SEC and Big 10 teams, and of course NC this year.

Iona firing their coach two years in, after making their conference title game, is insane. Two years is nearly unheard of for any team, but St. John's has as many ranked withs since February (5) as Iona has in their entire history. Delusional program.

I am not drawing any conclusions at all about his future, but numbers were better than Walter Clayton as a freshman there.

12.4/2.8/4.2

If we face michigan, how would we matchup against the twin towers of wolf and golden????

35 minutes for Vince???
In an interview a few weeks back RP made the point that the NCAA is all about matchups. He mentioned the there were 4 or so teams that would be bad matchups for the Johnnies.

While he wouldn’t name them, I immediately thought of Michigan solely based on the big guys.
