Creighton (MSG), Sun., Feb. 16, 3p, FS-1

This is the best post on this thread so far ( and a lot of great posts )
Thanks for your kind words. When we see how intense every conference game is, and how much effort it takes to win, we have to appreciate our guys even more. With the exception of 3 or so games, every game has been up for grabs in the final 4 or 5 minutes. Watching this St. John's team reminds me of Alec Baldwin's quote about needing brass balls to sell real estate. You also need brass balls to win in the Big East conference. Outr guys have them.

+1000 for the GlenGarry Glen Ross reference !!

We are 6-1 in games where we trailed by ten or more..that is nuts.
It’s because no team can game us. We have to lose the game, to lose the game. It’s kinda crazy but it’s true. The only games we lose, is when we are miserable shooting or don’t do our job rebounding. We have to actively lose, for most others to beat us. We aren’t a good shooting team to it’s always a war and we keep plenty games close. If we had any consistent offense at all we’d be #1 right now in a runaway as our defense, athleticism and rebounding are so good.

We don’t win games because of our shooting. We win games because we play great defense , lock the other team down , wear them out , out tough them and score enough points to win. The way we play , we can win no matter how we shoot.
Exactly

There are many great things about this team and this year. But for me the number 1 thing has to just be what it’s done to the energy of this fan base and especially the younger crowd. The bars around MSG are packed pre and post game with delerious, younger fans who pack the arena. That was a sorely needed shot in the arm for this program. You walk around in SJ gear and people actually stop to say something to you, which hasn’t happened previously in this millennium.

Cant wait for March
Always knew the fan base’s potential. Need to parlay this forward!

I've been critical of Sim all season but think he played pretty well for a 1 point, 4 foul performance. For a guy that's used to getting at least 8-10 shots up every game he didn't try to assert himself and force anything offensively that wasn't there. Thought his on ball defense was solid for most of the game too
Not Sim's finest hour today, but made a couple of big plays at key moments. Even though his minutes were limited, he's still the first guy on the bench to be celebrating his teammates effort. Seems like a total team guy, which I respect.

His best, under control for most part game

Went to school with Malik, who is still my favorite St John’s player of all time. While RJ does boneheaded things at times, he is very similar and has the most sleekness, toughness and winning mentality of any player since Sealy. I love this team and I love RJ as one of our leaders. Special team the likes we haven’t seen in a very long time. I feel blessed to watch this group play at MSG. They have brought the energy back. We Are St John’s!!!

As mentioned by others, it's been a long time since we experienced the surreal atmosphere we did today at the Garden. THIS is what NYC is like when St. John's is this good with a Hall of Fame coach. Also said, imagine how good and dangerous we would be if we were a good shooting team! Last in free throws but first in winning.
Unfckenbelievable!!!
