SJU Portal Targets

Sha's busy deferring half of his future earnings and a percentage of his investment income to get Richmond to stay. Talk about having leverage over a team....
Yeah, tough road. The Hall's predicament reminds me of ours back in the day, lol.

If we do sign Cliff, Maker likely red shirts. Personally, I would pass on Cliff and sign a guard and a forward, at least one of whom is a go to proven scorer in crunch time. Without that we will founder.
How much does a redshirt earn in NIL? Not a valuable IMAGE imo.🤯

If you've never heard of Cliff, you don't follow college hoops much other than the Johnnies which is fine but then your opinions need to be just a little qualified. Cliff was the second best player on a Rutgers team that actually danced in 2022, something we haven't done since 2019.
It was a joke/sarcasm. Someone poster awhile back with all the twist and turns of the Cliff saga, he was “dead to them.”

Redshirting a player in basketball now makes no sense unless the player is injured.
Agree it makes no sense but with three centers ahead of him if Cliff comes maker would get no time. Why not get paid and keep a yrs of eligibility.

Cliff can’t score. Limited to defense impact. With Vince and Kubynwith maker in line we don’t need Cliff. Soriano outplayed him in Rutgers game last fall. One trick pony.

So what do your think, Paultz? If Kadary portals, do we make a strong play? I assume we do this if we strike out on Smith. Can’t see us getting them both.
Boo, you think they're mutually exclusive because of the Nil$ cost?

Yeah, Smith is first choice to me by a fair margin for his ball sharing skills, which roster to date really needs. I would expect if/when Kadary portals SJ staff would make a strong play for him if no Smith.

That and I think they’re both ball dominant. I know several posters have alluded to Kadary as a point forward but I can’t see him spending his last year at a place that will force him to relinquish or split the pg role.

Good point, although Kadary seems as much a scorer as he is a PG and I think he'd benefit from a PG as skilled as Smith feeding him the rock and be a more prolific scorer.

They'd create pure havoc against other teams I think, but our Nil$ likely scotches any chance of that.

I could see every Northeast kid coming out now wanting to see what UConn has to say if there's mutual interest, but aside from that I'm pretty damn close to 100 percent guaranteeing that Kadary is coming out with us specifically in mind.
Wow, but is that assuming Smith has moved on, or could we possibly afford (and get) both?
