Hard to count on players staying 5 years in this environment.Agree it makes no sense but with three centers ahead of him if Cliff comes maker would get no time. Why not get paid and keep a yrs of eligibility.

I know nothing at all about Smith or his NIL ask/how tough a get he would be.Wow, but is that assuming Smith has moved on, or could we possibly afford (and get) both?
While Smith might be a better fit, I’d take Kadary if we can get him. A bird in the hand . . . He definitely moves the needle!I know nothing at all about Smith or his NIL ask/how tough a get he would be.
There's been chatter about Richmond for a long time though. Seems definite to me that he's waiting on something -- NIL guarantee is what I suspect. I always assume these days that every talented kid with the numbers to match is asking for $1 million so haggling is happening I'm sure.
Would love either one, but lean to Smith because he'd make everything flow and everybody running on all cylinders. While Smith might be a better fit, I’d take Kadary if we can get him. A bird in the hand . . . He definitely moves the needle!
Looking for a BIG payday no doubt. Was told by a very good source Kadary's people have already reached out to SJU staff...
Boosters are not financing nil deals for the advertising benefits. They do what school needs. How much does a redshirt earn in NIL? Not a valuable IMAGE imo.
Hey at least he’s only gone to one previous schoolWas told by a very good source Kadary's people have already reached out to SJU staff...
I agree with most of what you say, but I think it depends on the alternative. I'd be more than glad to have him or instead an alternative who happens to be a better fit (better outside shot, quicker, better defender). Kadary did show the ability to make the others around him on offense better.I think Kadary is a great college player, but I just don't think he's a good fit for a Pitino system or our roster. We gotta get shooters in our back court. I also don't like the rumors of sitting out due to NIL at SHU + the apparent drama with him and Sha (rumored on Trilly).
If we end up with him, I think it'll just end up in disappointment and a lot of debate on our message boards. I obviously understand Rick would be signing off on this and he think he would make it work, but I don't think Kadary is a home run.

My addition to this is Scott, who is a more proven shooter than anyone above.Counterpoint: maybe we have enough shooting with Wilcher, Dunlap, Glover, Liotopoulos, perhaps an improved Luis. What we lack is playmaking, which Richmond is excellent at.
Don't disagree that Smith may be a better fit but OTOH there is no projection needed about what Richmond can do in the BE. He is an excellent player. Agree the tempo fit may be odd.
The scary part of your counterpoint is that you included two freshman. No matter how good they are, we all agree that counting on freshman is a fool's errand. To be fair, I also think Scott and maybe an improved Zuby can also help us space the floor. But I don't know.Counterpoint: maybe we have enough shooting with Wilcher, Dunlap, Glover, Liotopoulos, perhaps an improved Luis. What we lack is playmaking, which Richmond is excellent at.

100% agree, which is why I'm hoping we have more surprise entries in the portal in the last week. We gotta land someone in the back court who can be a starter Day 1.I agree with most of what you say, but I think it depends on the alternative. Kadary is a fantastic player. If we are fortunate we may sign him and the PG. Then maybe get lucky with a Ledlum ruling.100% agree, which is why I'm hoping we have more surprise entries in the portal in the last week. We gotta land someone in the back court who can be a starter Day 1.

The tempo fit scares me, and I don't totally see how he and Luis make sense on a roster together. Unless Luis' three point shot improves back to UMASS levels and above, I think it may get very crowded in the paint.
He's obviously a top BE player and I know Rick loves his defense (when he brings it)/toughness. But I would rather have us getting guys that fit Pitino's system better at this point. With all the names being floated around pre-portal through now, it's been weird how it's a lot of guys that don't really make sense for Pitino (Kriisa, Pope, for example).
Really hope we land Smith so we don't need to bother figuring out how Kadary fits for four months. lol
As the board turnsWe need a good soap opera here. Everyone is always so calm, respectful, and agreeable. Things are uneventful.
I think Richmond can be to this team what “Dallas” was to 1980’s TV.
Do you think Dunlap was part of that 8-9 rotation last year?Agreed. Lefty will not average more than 5mpg and Glover I’d be shocked if he averages more than 10-12 mpg. They will not be part of the 8-9 man rotation that sees regular, steady, consistent minutes.
