2023-24 Roster

who cares our bench players this year are better then our starters outside of soriano last year. I remember people crying about our core players not returning, want them back now? Didnt think so
No more Jabronis!! We gonna be da real deal soon in da Madison Square Arena worlds most famous !!

Any chance we see a Jenkins / Wilcher starting backcourt in an attempt to get the talent on the floor at the same time? Dingle would slide to play the 3 at 6'3" temporarily.

Imagine a ...

Wilcher
Jenkins
Dingle
Ledlum
Soriano

... starting lineup, if just for the first 7 minutes of each half.

I thought we just got very highly ranked Ledlum who will give us 5 fouls at the 4 in addition to very good défense, good rebounding , good scoring and senior leadership.
If Joel stays completely healthy there is absolutely no issue. If he is forced to miss time, you’d have to expect Zuby will have an issue with fouls.

As a contingency, I think you go Traore at the 5 with Ledlum at the 4 and Conway or Luis at the 3. Far from ideal, but it might not even factor into the season at all. It’s also possible Pitino adds another big in the 11th hour.

We are fine and deeper at every position than we’ve been in years. I suspect Rick will be very comfortable giving Drissa 5-8 mpg as the situation dictates.

I don’t think that will happen.

This starting lineup has me drooling.
It's truly an I can't wait starting lineup.
It's been a long time but, "HAPPY DAYS ARE
HERE AGAIN"

We have to be realistic. The fall off from Joel and Zuby to Traore is massive. He couldn’t even get burn last year on an awful team.

Agree here. It’s why I would have loved to keep Slazinski. We would have been set and he would still have probably shared plenty of time with Ledlum.

Thought he would have gotten the burn he was looking for under the Coach he wanted...
With 80 mins at the PF/C slots- envisioned this type of mix:
Joel: 27
Ledlum: 23
Zuby: 15
SLaz: 15
....now that i type that... i can see why he would want more than 15 mins/game in his last year of college ball

I didn’t mean to imply that Drissa would play 5-8 minutes per game but that in a situation where big man foul trouble dictated it, Coach wouldn’t hesitate to give him 5 minutes PT.
I could be wrong but I wouldn’t bet against Drissa actually getting to be an end of the rotation guy in 24-25 when Joel and Ledlum are gone. If Pitino didn’t see that as a possibility I suspect he would have told him that.
Maybe I’m dreaming but that’s my thinking. Wouldn’t be the first time Pitino coached a kid up.
