Zach article/Our soft OOC schedule

It seems that with the SH forfeiture, the team is allowed to schedule an OOC game later in the season to get to its full allowable 31 game schedule.  Hopefully, we'll be able to schedule--and more importantly win--a bracket-busting OOC P-5 game.

We came in fourth during last year's COVID-shortened season, but I wouldn't consider it a success by Big East standards. It was a success relative to our expectations, but we didn't make the Tournament and enough of the team quit on the NIT. If we had a successful OOC and made the Tournament (or won the NIT), then that'd be different. Casual fans don't care about a Coach of the Year award, they want results and that hasn't happen yet during CMA's first 3 seasons (obviously this season is still very young, though).

We don't necessarily need to be a Top 25 team, but we do at least need to be an average Big East team. We've only made the Tournament once (as the last team in) during the past 6 seasons. I believe every Big East team with the exception of DePaul has been to the Tournament at least once during the past 6 seasons. If over the past 6 seasons we played as well as 8/10 of the other Big East teams- only excluding Georgetown and DePaul- then attendance would be better.
Couldn't agree more Adam. We had COY, ROY, DPOY and almost POY. None of that matters if we don't dance. Although it does give some of our desperate fan base something to hang their hats on.
